Lovely work Ivor on the railcar. I've just been sitting back watching the progress but it's only fair I comment what I think. You've done superb work and that paint job is just spectacular.

I think one of the reasons why the flak looks a little different is because it may not be to the correct scale, flak 38's are quite tiny in real life.

This is just simply amazing, the work that they have done is superb, and there's viewing available on Sunday

Wonderful news! And what made me even more happier is the fact there's no coreless motor! Yay.

Is there a link to said image please?

May I please ask who owned the table with a collection of models displayed? They all look rather exquisite. I'm sorry I could not be there any of the days, the downside of being a stressed student haha.

How about this though? The lever in the cab looks gigantic to me. I'm not sure if I should keep it? Any thoughts?
Pardon me if I am wrong, but should the reverser be the other way round? So the handle is on the other side, making it easier to use.

One thing i would say to keep in mind are handrail knobs, I once got a piece of wire exactly the way I wanted it, only to find out that I couldn't thread the handrail knobs onto the positions they are meant to go in had to start all over again haha.

May I ask a quick question please, why are there bars across the open windows of the carriage? Were they on the real vehicle, or is this an added feature for "safety"?

I also used white spirit until I bought some that turned out to be quite a soapy and slippery substance, now I just stick with the own brand thinners for thinning paint and normal spirits for cleaning.

The Antrim to Lisburn branch is "closed" but still used rarely for diversions and driver training.

Downfall and Das Boot as mentioned above, would be my number one ww2 era films, if you haven't seem them, I highly recommend that you do.

What is the difference between the new 30064 and the previous one?
I too was wondering that, what happens to the limited number of the runs then?

Historical inaccuracies aside I thought that the movie was brilliant, certainly had me on the edge of my seat.

I love micro sol and micro set, I did use decalfix by Humbrol before, but these two are far superior in my personal opinion. Although I would not recommend micro matt, no matter what I do it just can't dry to a matt finish, the micro gloss however is quite good.

I know I've hit the "like" button annol but I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to write up these updates, I know how tedious they can be, but I actually really enjoy reading what you've done and comparing it with the photos.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to reply, I really appreciate it. Now I'm sorted!

What a superb update and great news regarding the J72. Those Mk2 are just also incredible, it reminds me of European HO scale models with all the extra details and lights, brilliant.
