  1. when is RMweb going to actually protect it's users by configuring a certificate and moving the site to https:// as the host is https enabled. without a cert the users passwords are at risk and we know the userbase on here are not tech savy and as such will be doing password resue.

    setting up https takes about 30seconds and certs can be done with lets encrypt for free, which give no reason to have it enabled, it will also prevent the unsecure banner being displayed on firefox and chrome.

  2. Why do you need to know this ?

    why do you think? for legal compliance, because I will be filing a complaint for failing to inform notice to the ico.

    just because you don't care doesn't mean we all don't bet your also the person that gives all there security information out on facebook.

    GDPR has to be complied with too because the date of the event was after 25th of may.

    so if you know anything about it you would know that they have the following conditions to meet.

    The UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) defines a personal data breach as “a breach of security leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of, or access to, personal data”.

    They highlight that “personal data breaches” can include:

    • Access by an unauthorised third party;
    • Deliberate or accidental action (or inaction) by a controller or processor;
    • Sending personal data to an unintended recipient;
    • Lost or stolen computing devices containing personal data;
    • Unauthorised alteration of personal data; and
    • Loss of availability of personal data.

    In the case of a personal data breach, the controller shall without undue delay and, where feasible, not later than 72 hours after having become aware of it.

    if it has our card information details then theses don't apply, however if the details are there they failed the encryption and measures.

    The communication to the data subject referred to in paragraph 1 shall not be required if any of the following conditions are met:

    1. the controller has implemented appropriate technical and organisational protection measures, and those measures were applied to the personal data affected by the personal data breach, in particular those that render the personal data unintelligible to any person who is not authorised to access it, such as encryption;
    2. the controller has taken subsequent measures which ensure that the high risk to the rights and freedoms of data subjects referred to in paragraph 1 is no longer likely to materialise;
  3. Hi everyone,

    my much vaunted new web site is at a standstill at the 11th hour.

    despite the compay i used ing the web guy for some big names, it appears that he was 'problems'.

    i knew 14 days ago he had I.T. problems, theb subsequently family problems, so i cut him , (as you do) some slack. fairs fair after all.

    Now despite the site being ready to go live (and get a few members here to test it), i cannot get contact from him at all..its been a week, he's been fully paid but nothing.

    Not by phone or internet, and my mails keep bouncing back as 'address not found at the destination domain'

    So im after suggestions , or even help as i may need someone to do me a new integrated web site with e --commerce.

    so, if you can help with advice etc, i'd appreciate it.

    cheers

    Dave

    Dave is the site on your hosting or the developers ?

    if it's on yours then you will be fine as all the code available to you.

    if not ensure all the password for the account integration have been changed.

    but looking at the data for your domain data it's being resold from 1&1 by a middle man.

  4. I was (am) being patient Dave.  What I am not impressed with is that I have someone's details (not just the order numbers but their name, address, telephone number and email address) and presumably they or someone else has mine.

    Once I have my locomotive and the process is complete I will shred the paperwork but I have no idea whether the other person will treat my information with the same care.

    This also suggests that APC may not be the only ones who have messed up here.

    thanks for confirming they have breached the GDPR regs as I suspected they had done.

    do you have billing address information and card numbers on the paperwork ?

  5. anyone heard from locomotion recently?

    got three rings of my mobile but they rung off before i could answer.

    thats as close as I have got, although i have gone to APC to collect my units. looking at the shipping notes there are at least 5 labels layered up on top of one another, so god knows where they been round the country.

  6. Hi everyone, and thanks for your support.

    Like you, i'm very glad to see the accounts now up to date.

    Great idea about the web site and i'll rope some of you kind souls in to kick it into touch for me.

    The laser scan is, unfortunately running a day or so later, but they are also supplying a Step/STL file for me to get the scan produced in 3D printed form.

    Anyone know anyone who can do this for me please as i currently use a company in India who do a great print (see the N and OO class 92's) but if the price is right i'd like to keep it 'in country'?

    Cheers

    Dave

    not a problem Dave,

    I had faith in your producing and delivering my units, your customer service has always been top par and always communicated the status of the projects effectively, and your a great chap to talk too.

    The people on her who like doing personal attacks are unlikely to have pre-ordered anyways, I look forward to seeing the cad.

  7. What a tantrum to throw over some choo choos.

    If he's like this now, what's he going to be like when he grows up.

    I will just tell my NHS customers that the 999 service being down is not important and that they should stop playing with the phones and grow up.

    or government digital services are down oh well.

    these is no difference between these and this they are still customers so from my perspective customer service is import even if it's not for you. so I expect the same level of detail and care I have to show to my customers.

  8. So you want to hurt a museum because your toy train hasn't arrived?

    Jesus Christ get a grip.

    Jason

    no I want them to talk to me and treat me as a customer. I know they have dispatched mine and just posted it to any random address I have the consignment numbers, the contractor posting them is working on behalf of the museum and as such is responsible. we are contracted with the museum as customers they need to communicate with the customer out of basic respect for the customer. after all I have been triyng to sort out there delivery assignment mess since Friday now. with call back promises and somebody will be in touch and nothing just radio silence.

    because if I just took £600 from you you would shouting fraudser or going to the policy saying I mugged you so yeah I have a grip thanks

  9. tired contacting locomotion to find out what the address they are currently sending them too and promised a call back. yet to happen the the NRM are handling customer comms very badly for a customer focused company.

    by now I would have thought they would have emailed everybody, mailing lists with an update isn't hard.

    recalling all the deliveries out should have also happened but that also doesn't seam to have happened and I have concerns that a GDPR breach has occurred with my name address and contact details going to a party that just sent it anywhere.

    if I haven't had contact from them in the next 24 hours and ringing the CC company to have my money pulled back and if more of us did that we would soon get a proper communication and actions taken as the CC companies pulling 100's or orders would hurt.

  10. Contact APC and ask for re-routing.

    I have asked APC to hold because they can't rereoute as am not customer. they said they will try but it's out on the van already but would contact driver to see if he's deleivered yet if not to hold and return then to depot.

    nobody is in a locomotion that normally deals with it but the lass on the in museum shop is doing her best to help after I said this is £600 worth going adrift with the APC. so hopefully they will be rerouted.

    am hoping enough has been done to prevent the falling into unknown hands.

  11. Calm down. Fulfillment of mass orders always takes time and Locomotion have arranged a quicker solution than previous projects. Just let them get on with it for a few days.

    I can't calm down the have posted mine to the wrong address, it's attention to detail on the orders I never asked it to go where they posted them.

    why have billing address and delivery if you just use billing address from 2015 even when one was provided updated in june? it's not quicker they messed up big time.

  12. There is tracking on the consignment email, contact APC immediately with your details rather than wait for Locomotion.

    I think you can recall the parcel or change the delivery address.

    yeah tried that the site gives me the abingdon delivery depot but calling it it just rings after 5 minutes I run off and have tried twice no such luck getting an answer as yet..

  13. all check and check again the dispatch address on your consignments.

    I ordered one for me and my dad and both have been dispatched to the wrong addresses. both was sent to the billing address on the reservation dispite me updating the addresses when settling the balances.

    as such my two models are going to an unknow renter at a former address and likely to be delivered before locomotion opens monday as the delivvery depot is 1/3 mile from the address they been dispatched too

    :O :o :nono: :scared: :scared:

  14. Not much progress from me in the last few weeks.....Near 80 hour working weeks don't leave much modelling time!

    However one of our team, Andy Burrows has completed the CAD for one of the trams needed and first test print has landed.....

    This is the 1927 standard....it'll be done in both original and rebuilt lower saloon form....I think I'll build a green one to upset the purists!

    Pic, CAD etc by Andy.....

    would  love to be able to buy a few of these or a copy of the stl file.

  15. Well for the last couple of months I have been getting together bits to start my conversion, my last element arrived today. a New Hornby early HST production sample body.

    so I have been working on looking at how to put it together today.

    I been lucky to get some castings Shane's (Wolf27) made on ebay he was selling as scrap.

    well 1 hour later of cleaning up 2 out of the 4 noses with my BRM subscription rotacraft the units are cleaned up enough for me to say they are good to go.

    I will be fixing the finished body onto the Hornby railroad hst chassis then looking to make a mould for creating a pair of resin cast bodies.

    it was nice chatting with the guys even asked them to do the APT-P as there second model they are really connected to there customer better than other manufactures.

    I can't wait to get mine now. last time I was looking forward to a model like this was the blue pullman.
