Hey, been a while. Hope all is well with you and the team. Thanks, glad you like. It's been a tough build but learning a lot from this one and loving the results. Want to get the glazing done so I can get cracking onto the interior. That'll be the bit that makes the difference.Looking very good, well done.
Cheers.
Paul.
How's things? Is TWY on tour right now? Loving the paint job you guys did on the portakabin. LSE never looked so good

WOW, the 313 is the best model I have seen of the 313/508 type units. Most are let down by the front end, your model really captures the look.
Thanks. Rubyrocco76 on eBay produced them. I just did the build and paintwork but they are spot on aren't they.

Thanks Meld. Image below which helps demonstrate the 3d capability:
Hey, NSE Latchmere is a an old friend of mine and told me about these in the production stages. I bought mine from you the day you launched. They're awesome and will be used on both my 313 and 319. Thanks very much they're incredible and work on pretty much any Mk3 unit.

After pretty much taking the summer off I've now got my butt in gear and got back on a mission completing the paint job and PPD Ltd window frames on the 313.
The pantograph coach has been fully painted, window frames added and is ready for some detailing plus undercarriage and the DMS is also painted now, with window frames added and ready for lighting to be fitted and detailing.
The first job will be to complete all 3 with decals and a couple of coats of varnish followed by finer detailing, building the undercarriage for the last two builds and fitting in the glazing for all 3.

Took 313 to NSE Latchmere a few weeks ago to give it some running trials and ensure all the lighting, circuits and motor work ok.
I had to build the remaining 3rd car the DMS to complete the tests and unbeknown to myself, the first coach I built was the DMBS.
The tests proved successful and the unit runs well and all lighting works successfully.
I even got to run it alongside the 2EPB units they replaced, lol

Completed the paint job on DMSO1. The overhead catenary warning line over the cab had to be painted by hand as it's too challenging to mask or line with transfers.
Additionally painted all the undercarriage, detailing parts and corrected minor lining errors.
Glad it's done, ready to get on with the other two coaches and commence transfers, varnish and glaze this one now.

So after a long wait, I'm finally back on the 313.
Before I start building the 2nd DMSO, I've made a start on the undercarriage for the 1st one. I've had to build the components from converting parts from other kits and scratchbuilding what I can't obtain. The PEP units had some very bespoke parts.
I've also built the drumswitch box under the drivers side of the cab.
Additionally I've finally sourced and obtained the correct pantograph although it doesn't fit the premoulded lodgings so again these were removed and the pantograph fixed in its own isolators. Had to build the additional elements to complete it.
Just a few detailing tweaks left to do on DMSO1 with decals and varnish to complete. Focus will now move onto DMSO2 and the centre car. Running trials have already gone well and I'm pleased with motor. Still have some wiring work to do to get all the lighting to work together.

Wow, did you ever do anything with this?

Nice window etches, are they from Rubyrocco76 or your own production?
The etched frames are from PPD Ltd, reorder code 24905. Cost circa £21

Great stuff. I find it interesting that you build and paint each car one after the other. That presumably that helps with the boredom of the same job over and over if doing them all in one go. All those door handles on traditional units or the glazing for example? I always got stuck at one stage and back in the box it went... Finding better ways to go about things probably occur as well?
It's simply a case of staying motivated and actually finishing a unit. I have a couple of slam door units that are still u finished because I've never gone beyond the paint phase.

Commenced working on the pantograph centre coach and adding the detail to the DMSO already built.
Internal lighting, destination blinds and headlights all fitted.
Etched Hopper Window Frames arrived and ready for fitting, then glazing to follow.
Motor housing installed and ready for wiring up.
Pantograph to be sourced and second DMSO to build next.

Back on it again following some time out and paint job going well. With most of the paint job done on the first DMSO, going to start building the remaining other coaches and get working on the finer detailing.
I'm really pleased with the progress so far and can't wait to get it running. Lights, undercarraige, window frames and interiors all set to follow.

So it's been a busy day but I've managed to achieve quite a bit. First up, I've built the bogies for the two DMSOs using Lima Class 156 bogies and adapting them to suit. Using Hornby Class 466 shoebeams and Hornby Class 153 Speedometer, they look pretty good.
I've built an underframes from plasticard which will hide all the wiring for lighting and enable me to install the interior. It's had filling and sanding so my apologies, it's looking a little stressed.
I've mounted the first DMSO onto the underframe and set up the bogies too so it's now ready for running tests.
Here it is alongside it's North London Line predecessor just to check the heights and gauging.
Cracking on with DMSO2 while I prepare it for priming and undercarriage components.

You've made re-painting into NSE livery look easy. I tried it once & it looked dreadful. I keep meaning to have another go one day.
Thanks mate. Tbh, I've painted a few things into it now so I'm a bit more polished I guess. You should see the shoebox of cast offs from my earlier attempts haha...

Wow you have some major projects going on there. I'm not so good at progressing too many things at once. I have the 313 at present alongside the 5WES upgrade and that's it for now. I also have the 6TC in departmental livery to do afterwards but that keeps getting pushed back. That will probably be my lot for 2018 unless my workload changes. I know what you mean though, it's all subject to finances, lol!!!Thanks Danny. It will need parts from Bratchell (sides, roof, ends, etc) and a custom etched cab/windows/doors as these are all different on the 457001 unit (I thankfully managed to get a number of close up detail photos of the remaining car 67300 at the ERM). It is kinda on hold atm, as I am lacking funds to get the parts needed. I expect I'll buy bits gradually to build up a collection of what I need (I expect I'll need 3 sets as there was a second test unit which tested the GEC equipment (457001 tested Brush equipment)).
As for the 507/508, I'll gradually acquire parts again over time. I am thinking of doing a model of the translator set T7, which used two 507/508 end cars painted green. Again funds are too tight to progress much with these units atm.

The seller has a thread on rmweb as well about progress on the parts.

What search do you use on ebay to find the parts please
See member Kelly's link above. The seller is Rubyrocco76 and all components are listed separately.

Your units have turned out very well. I too have been getting the bits to do a 313, don't know when I will get round to doing it.
Cheers.
YASSS!!! That I cannot wait to see on your layout!
