  1. Always loved the 4REP & 4TC sets so having built a set of each previously, i am now in the process of building one of the short lived 6REP units, formed from the redundant spares during the delayed introduction of the Wessex Electrics on the south west mainline from London Waterloo to Bournemouth & Weymouth. I'm converting them from a Hornby 4VEP, with MJT parts supplemented by two additional VEP TSOs to make it up to a 6 car set. Having adapted the couplings to run the set as a 6 car set with fully functioning lighting and headcodes, (it wasn't easy) I'm really enjoying the build and have just about finished the two DTS. I'm about to commence on the two TBSKs next and will then build the TF and former 4REP DMSO after. The 6REPs weren't around for long (1990-91) and as i understand it, there were only 4 units in the end 1902 - 05, but they were finished in full NSE livery and looked awesome. I was just posting this to see if anyone had any photos of the 6REPs to share as there's not a great deal out there and all the pics i have sourced are of 1902 & 1903 awaiting disposal. I would really appreciate any pics any members would have to share. The unit i'm building is 1903. Many Thanks...
  2. Thanks - i can't take any credit for the layout or filming as my best mate is the one who has pulled that together. He has a polaroid cube camera connected to his iPhone and runs a Twitter page @NSE_Latchmere where he showcases all things Southern Slamdoor-esque and South West Mainline. I'm currently working on the General Manager's Saloon 975025 in NSE and am preparing for my next biggie, the relatively short lived 6REP but i'm loving your work. Keep us updated please
  3. Fantastic work on your REP/TC. I went through a similar process using the MJT 4TC kit to build my 4REP and had similar challenges getting the TRB & TFKB built. Great to see someone else building one of these phenomenal units and to such a great standard too. This is mine on a colleagues layout having a test run with lighting installed in the 4REP. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIe9kxw6SSk Fantastic job Taigatrommel
  4. Amazing detail and takes me back to sitting in the snug, belting it up to Waterloo. Love the murals too. Superb!!! Please keep us informed on your progress, can't wait to see the unit up and running. Well done.
  5. Wow, great collection. Certainly helped me Michael thanks.
  6. Here are the pictures i found most useful. There not mine but I'm really grateful to the guy that took them as they're the only ones i found that were fairly conclusive. Hope they help you too.
  7. Hi Chris, I'm currently building a 4REP & a 4TC in 4mm using MJT kits so i know the problems youre facing regarding this detail. I had a nightmare doing the inner ends as they differed on both units, some being rectangular and others being what i can only describe as Guitar case shaped. I searched extensively on Google gathering pics of both units and this was a real challenge as there are very few but i did manage to find a few pics that showed the inner ends of the TBSK & TF of 4TC unit 417 (8017) which were a real help. When I get a chance tonight, I'll post these pics up for you. Dan
