A particular favourite of mine, this production was very difficult to film, After each journey, all the trains had to be re-positioned at their starting points in order to film the next one.
Originally produced in colour this monochrome version is intended to give the look an feel of films of the time portrayed. The original version is still available on the Channel.
This film records four train journeys which overlap each other around the main station at Trenholme Junction. The first train is a DMU, camera mounted behind the driver and viewed from the perspective of a nine year old boy. The remaining trains are all goods, camera mounted in the guards vans giving the unique view only a guard would see when standing on the verandas(s). The second part (Overlap 2) of this film will show the conclusion of these journeys'.
