Wheels of Steel, Grays Antique Market, off Oxford Street - For my money, the best secondhand market ever. I used to do quite a lot of buying and selling with Jeff Williams, and have come way with some really interesting items, especially half-built kit bashed locos and rolling stock, many of which are still packed away in my attic awaiting me getting round to finishing them: an Ivatt Atlantic from a Hornby B12, a 4-LAV electric unit from Ian Kirk parts, a BR Griddle Car and an RKB from Replica Buffet Restaurant Cars to name but a few. A sad day when Jeff decided to finish.
I would agree that Wheels of Steel was a sad loss, even more so as I understand his website is now gone as well. The best purchase I made from Jeff was a Hornby Dublo 2 rail EMU in beautiful condition along with two coaches suitable for being used as centre cars to make a four car unit.

A'noon all again,
I don't know who's upstairs twiddling the algorithm knobs on the t'internet, but the side bar pop up ads appearing up on various forums I'm on are a funny old mixture at the moment, this week I have mostly been bombarded with ads for vintage guitars, stiletto heeled kinky boots, gothic jewellery, baking products, brightly coloured hair dye, cat food and power tools.
Something is afoot I tells yer....!
I think a cat loving rock chic may have been using your computer!

I will be watching the Welsh News with interest tonight to see how many cross the border "illegally". There has already been an increase in those heading for the North Wales Coast this week, according to a member of the Coastguard yesterday. Fortunately, we are off the beaten (tourist) track so I doubt it will affect us. It seems people are claiming "confusion" as their excuse! What is confusing about "Don't come to Wales/Scotland"?
Stupidity is probably the main reason. The other is that some of the "I have rights" brigade think they are above the law and follow certain government people (the world over) who think they can get away with anything.

* Well not exactly "equal" but I do possess a number of Southern items, including some Bulleid light pacifics. I am a fan of the "as built" Merchant Navy locomotives.

The June Model Rail says that final liveries, guises and prices will be announced once they open the order books so you are correct in thinking that you cannot order them at present.

Your craftsmanship is wonderful. I love seeing what you have done each time you post. A real inspiration.

Who would want to buy something advertised by half eaten fruit?

Hi Chris,
Just tell your dear lady that you have a deep connection to a fellow modeller !
Gibbo.
I fear I would have a deep connection with her right fist. It would be coming out the back of my head!

Hi F-UtdMad,
The answer to that particular question is, "I can't actually see, something large and round appears to have eclipsed the sun light !"
Gibbo.
That is living very dangerously. In fact I am surprised you are still living if you have ever answered the question that way!

Missed check in this morning as again it was straight back to the coal face. Today's biggest c*ckwomble was yours truly, glass of diluted fruit juice all over the (company) laptop keyboard.
Explanations duly given and device has now failed.
Whilst I shouldn't be overly concerned, as accidents do happen, I just feel pretty stupid. That on top of a distinctly below average week so far has not done my mental health and feelings about myself much good at all.
Sorry to be a burden, I might be away for a short while as I seem to be making posts which are a bit of a depressing read of late.
I've read and rated, hopefully correctly. Now time to force some food into me, but I really CBA.
Have a good evening and night all. See you tomorrow, hopefully.
I think I speak for most of us on here. We can all feel down at times but that NEVER makes you a burden. Keep coming here and posting, it may help get the negative feelings out and that will help you. We are here to listen and never forget that.
See you tomorrow and hope you have a better day than you seem to have had today.

It's five o'clock somewhere means you can drink all day and night if you want to. At least that is what I take the song to mean!

The forecast promised a thunderstorm and rain so as usual it has been hot, sunny and cloud free. I stopped bothering with weather forecasts when Mr Fish said there would not be a hurricane and I woke up the next morning to lots of trees lying down! Best way of knowing the weather is to look out the window and if you need to know the temperature open the door and stand outside for a short time.
SWMBO had her walk, longer than yesterday but again it was the heat and not her replacement hip that caused her to get a lift in her wheelchair back home with me pushing.
Grilled bacon and scrambled egg was enjoyed for breakfast and I have some chicken breasts to cook for our evening meal. She has an iced coffee and I have a cold milk to drink at present.

Just like when you get two ties for Christmas, a blue one and a red one. You get smartened up for Christmas dinner and come down wearing the blue tie, to be immediately met the question - and what's wrong with the red tie?
The answer to that is "Nothing, but I couldn't find my other neck", then make sure you are out of arms reach and she doesn't have anything heavy to throw at you.

Looks like it plays havoc with your typing aswell. I don't require any of those to mess my typing up.

I wish I could get the photos I have promised but it is looking as though it could be late this year or even next year before trains can run on the MHR and I won't be working as guard until the trains are running.

I like the Lime Marmalade and Marmite but not together. SWMBO hates Marmite and tells me that because I don't like Peanut Butter I have funny tastes! I try not to get involved in that discussion.
