  1. Thanks every one for your help Will send a letter to David,as I live in Australia,so a phone call will be difficult to organise.
  2. Hi Asking if anyone knows if David Geen kits are sold by any hobby supply shop ect ,as I am looking for a few. Have sent a few emails to David's email address but have not had any replies. If any one knows of a supplier ,please let me know as I will message them. I am looking for the LSWR cattle wagon kit as well as the LSWR meat van. Any help welcomed.
  3. Hi Asking if anyone has or knows where I can get a drawing in 4mm scale of LSWR A12 Jubilee class loco. Sadly by the time I got the money together to buy a kit,the manufacturer had called it a day and closed . Have spent last 12 months searching for a kit on eBay and other sites but no luck. So looking for drawing so as to have a go at scratch building one. Any help welcomed. Just before Christmas I received from Falcon brass works, two brass LSWR kits. One horsebox and a 4 wheel milk van.slowly getting them together, and they look good . First experience in doing brass kits. When the wheather cools down a bit here (hot summer here in Australia) I have a line up of about twenty wagons awaiting painting and decals. My Southern Railway expands. Happy modelling
  4. I've just finished a few wagon kits and rather than use the old Hornby oversize couplings, thought about these Nem pockets. As I have not seen them or used them before, would I be right to assume that I glue the pocket on the wagon frames, then use the coupling suitable and that is it? I prefer the smaller coupling ,as it is more suited for shunting, and is not so chunky looking. The Ideal way to go would be drop link couplings ,but too fiddly for shunting. Any help or information welcomed.
  5. Thanks for your replies Maybe if we get enough interest out there , someone may design one for the market. With all the Southern fans out there , I would hope something comes out that we could all use. It's good to see that the Southern is getting a good range of items becoming available. I was scorned and laughed at for years for being a southern fan. Happy modelling
  6. Hello everyone Would some one be able to help me in regards to locating a manufacturer of an 00 SR refrigerator kit. Looking to acquire a few ,prefer kits not the Hornby RTR one. I have had no luck with the David Geen range,I did see a kit but it was for O scale. Have just received 3 SR bogie ballast wagon kits,(Cambrian) , just waiting for ballast brake kit to arrive. Then will finish building ballast train. Next project....to acquire a train of horseboxes
  7. Interesting it will be. Saw my first printer in June at a train show here in Queensland. Have a load of 4 mm drawings ,so lots to choose from if I can get good at it.
  8. Received another parcel today. Nine more kits to build over the Christmas break,LMS fish and meat vans, and a string of SR covered vans. Going to have a go at building a cattle wagon with 3D printer .if it works will produce a nice rake of them for my layout.
  9. Hello First blog by me I'm an avid Southern fan,and I am currently building my first layout on the end to end system.Plan to have a two road mainline terminal, with a branchline platform ,funeral platform, goods yard ect. Have three locos ,looking to get a few more, and currently building a heap of wagon kits. Going to have a go at my first brass kit soon. Will post pics as I go. What I would like to know is,are the David Geen range still available,as I can only find a price list for 2009 on the web. I would like to get some of his vans and cattle wagons. Also sadly I learned that a manufacturer of a large range of Southern kits no longer makes said items. This means I cannot get an A12 Jubilee kit. Will look hard at eBay. Being in Australia makes modelling Southern or any other British theme all the more challenging,as you can only get the basic items out here. Thanks to all those modellers who post their models as it inspires others to have a go Southern bliss
