It may be worth contacting your local Model Railway Club.
Details of Model Railway Clubs can be found on the UK Model Shop which is updated each Friday
At Stafford Club we regularly get approached for advice on the disposal of model railway items including layouts and stock.
I am presently involved in selling a large 00 collection on locomotives (100+) Coaches (100+) and Wagons (150+)
About 90% of the items are boxed which we sell to our members at our exhibition for a small percentage of sales value.
We check every locomotive to ensure it’s a runner
As you can imagine this has taken members many hours of their time.
They will be on our secondhand stand at the Stafford Exhibition 28th & 29th September
Home based layouts are often more of a problem in that they tend to be large.
If anyone is interested in a 20ft X 9ft layout please PM me as the above collection includes a well built layout all in sections.
It would a great shame to send it to the tip (would make a good club layout)

Warley at the NEC is indeed history but the new Warley at Statfold exhibition on 12th & 13th October this year is the beginning of a new era. Smaller yes, but still a good size with over 30 layouts and over 30 trade exhibitors. More importantly it will be more relaxed and family friendly with unlimited free rides on the Statfold barn narrow gauge railways and full access to their truly wonderful collection of narrow gauge locos from around the world. At Warley we are very excited about our new venture and all of us are very relieved to not be organising a show at the NEC. Advance tickets can be bought from Statfold Barn - https://www.statfold.com/warleymodelrailwayshow . Note this is at Statfold and not Stafford.
Warley club fully support Stafford in their exhibition and I am sure there will be many Warley club members at Stafford. I recommend the Stafford show and will certainly be there this year as a paying customer. I haven't missed a Stafford show for years (sometimes as an exhibitor and sometimes a visitor) and it is always well worth going. I believe Stafford is now the biggest show put on by a single model railway club and wish them every success; they deserve it.
Good Morning Chris
Many thanks for your kind words about our forthcoming Stafford Exhibition.
Likewise I think I have attended every Warley Exhibition from the 1990s to the present, with Camel Quay having attended the last Warley Exhibition at the NEC
I will most certainly be at Statfold over the Warley Exhibition Weekend and am very much looking forward to it.

Many of you will also know that our secondhand stand is a place well worth a visit. This year is no exception,in that yet again we have a large collection of 4mm Models to sell on behalf of a local family
Around 120 locomotives both steam and diesel from Bachmann, Heljan, Hornby as well some collectable Lima all boxed and tested.
Also over 100 boxed coaches and about 150/200 wagons also all boxed together with buildings, scenic items and brand new unused Peco points

I have in the past had Toyota cars from a main dealer with 0% interest and 5 year warranty
From time to time such deals become available with the funding often coming from the manufacturer especially if they have old stock before a new model is going to be launched.

I'd recorded it, and skipped the Mercedes segments when I realised from the start of the first that they were more TopGear Powerrrr!!! exercises. I tried to watch the rest with an open mind, but my mind started clogging with the rubbish and my finger started straying to the FFWD button. The carrying capacity segment? Utter waste of space (as it were...). Wouldn't you just look at the boot cubic capacity of the vehicles you're interested in and select the best fit for your needs?
I'm glad I didn't watch it in realtime.
Totally agree with you, glad I also watched it on playback

Good Morning All
I have just had a email from Ron of Totem Signs to say he is unable to attend the Stafford Exhibition over the weekend of 28th & 29th of September.
Does anybody else know of another trader who offers the making of vinyl signs at the exhibition that may be interested in attending the Stafford Exhibition
Unfortunately this is the second trader that has to pull out as Baz Models is unable to make it due to issues beyond his control.

Having used a Team Digital SMD82 successfully on a layout for over 5 years I decided to obtain the new SMD84 for a new project.
Although I ok with point selection and macro to operate a sequence I am not sure another option I am considering.
As this new project has 5 solenoid operated through the SMD84 I’m not sure how the push button point selection works.
Any help would be most welcome, as there is a common and 7 other connections
As it’s capable of operating 8 points x 2 16 options how does it work

Even easier just wire it to a center off switch one way DCC centre off other way DCC just train your self to stop at center off position it is what I use double throw switch is all you need and make sure it is center off switch
Exactly what I have done on a couple of recent layouts, for the same reasons.

Sad news on losing yet another fine modeller with the loss of Trevor Nunn.
Remember inviting him along to our exhibition with East Lynn Quay as I remember many years ago.

Stafford show is always a must do in my railway exhibition diary.
One thing the club does so well is getting very large aisles between the layouts which makes the show far less claustrophobic.
We are very lucky having large venue with lots of space enabling wider aisles in such a good location and good public transport links.
