Great rant, I hate unboxing videos with a passion. If I ever do one all you will see is packaging flying then a locomotive being produced for the camera, front, side, back, bits and pieces quick look 10 seconds a side then bam, on the track. Job done. No reading the blurb, no instructions reading no patronising disclaimers just here's the box, here's whats it in, is it any good? Yes or no.

I have a spare 2MT Bachmann chassis now after I made complete hash of EM conversion, decided EM is now only for pre grouping stuff, I'm sticking to 00 for all RTR from now on! my hat is off to you sir!

It's more an approximation than an accurate model, a few compromises have had to be made. The Round top firebox was done quite simply by filling the top half of the belpaire with some epoxy putty, then filing the hell out of it until round.
The cab spectacles are then replaced with much bigger ones I made in the lathe, they shouldn't really be as big as I've made them but the belpaire cabs are taller than the round tops, so to give the illusion of it all being the right size bigger spectacles take up the gap nicely.
I've also fitted the 3D print smokebox front and filed off all the rivets round the smokebox, and the tender has had some surgery too - losing its solid fenders in favour of some coal rails I've yet to fabricate.
I am at this point undecided whether or not to use a Bull Ant in the tender, or whether to try and cram something into the loco to drive it.

Looks very good indeed! How did the dome come off? I always thought it was part of the boiler. I'm doing a round top firebox conversion at the moment, and have a Lord of the isles brass dome I could use

I don't suppose you have the dimensions do you, I've been asked to do a printed wall which is has these as quoins. Would make life a lot easier if I knew the dimensions! (I only have photos of the wall to go on!)
