  1. Welcome Back I wondered yesterday if they had fitted a wind cover to the microphone but now I wonder if they have added a "noise gate", which is a bit of electronics which silences the audio below a certain sound level, either way sounds good.
  2. I agree, I was listening at the time the sound went off, could be the owner has fitted a wind shield.
  3. Hi Couple of questions for you Are the guys installing a permanent fence along the walkway under repair & seen from the Dawlish beach camera? How will the containers & contents be removed when cut-up, and when will that be? Thanks
  4. I guess that explains why the track router is slightly ahead of the camera. It also probably explains why occasionally when a lot of users are watching, it can pause (it is a popular misconception that there is unlimited broadband connectivity between the UK and USA). That said these are only minor points, I really appreciate the team who have setup this camera on one of my favourite pieces of line, I often have it on for a while whilst doing work on a second screen
  5. For some time I have been suspicious that the train tracker and dawlish beach camera are not in sync, even since last weekends engineering work. The tracker appears to be ahead of the camera, so I wonder if the camera is delayed for some reason? What do you think?
  6. Good to hear this is modern practice. Not sure it is in Nottingham where today David Cameron will visit the ongoing tram construction. I think he will find the timescale somewhat different to the Dawlish restoration...
  7. Yesterday on the dawlishbeach camera, two men moved a number of metal railing panels onto the footpath - does that mean the footpath is to be fitted with a safety fence? I don't ever remember there being a fence here, but there is some evidence nearer the red rock that there was once such a fence. Any ideas?
  8. Has any decision been made on raising the footpath to the same level as the rest of the path, once the metal containers are cut up & their contents removed?
  9. Slightly off subject, watching the Dawlish beach cam, I noticed the FGW HSTs have at least two different First Class configurations - could anybody explain these please
  10. Anybody tried walking from Dawlish Warren towards "Red Rock" this weekend - how far can you get, or is it blocked at the footbridge over the crossover?
  11. Can I just thank everyone from CK & the Orange Army to the regular posters, and isn't it great to see what can be done when it needs to be done.
