Something to bear in mind when choosing figures is that our ancestors were, on average, shorter than we are today. This means that HO figures, whilst probably too small to be used on a layout depicting the contemporary scene, might be pretty close to the correct size for the VIctorian and Edwardian eras.

What motor + gearbox are you putting in the Barclay? I have one of these in the cupboard quietly waiting...
I'm planning to put a Mashima 1220 and a High Level 108:1 gearbox in, probably a Loadhauler+ which should allow me to get the motor into the boiler/tank area. We'll see how that goes.

This stuff looks interesting. Are the parts pre-sized for 16.5mm gauge, or is there some flexibility?

Thanks Stu. Plenty of time for disaster/inertia to strike although being signed off work for 3 weeks might help to prevent the second of those.
