Thanks a lot guys for the Information, I changed the decoder for a ESU 82885 V4 Micro DCC Sound Decoder 8 pin which when i tried worked fine. I was wondering why they supply a rectangular speaker, when the hole underneath is for a circular 20mm speaker ?. I also have a Bachmann 03 which I would like to convert to DCC sound and wondered If anyone had done it. Heres a photo for anyone interested.

Hi, I have The Ixion Hudswell Clarke O gauge Loco which I would like to try and run on DCC. I have a TCS DP2X Chip Decoder thingy with 8 Pins but I don't want to fit it the wrong way round. The loco socket gives no clue as to which way it fits. Ixion Instructions mention a grey lead at the smoke box end, but the chip I have has no leads. Will something blow up or catch fire if I fit it the wrong way ? Sorry I really have no idea about this DCC business at all. Thanks Steve
