Choice/fitting of couplers is left to the individual builder. I used Smiths screw-links as that suits the layout it'll run on.
I think you could mount a NEM pocket to the outer bogie after assembly, shimmed as required with plastic strip?
Cheers, I must look at these when the files are available again and see if my printer can cope :)
Thanks

is it NEM couplings?

Hi everyone,
Just on this one, there was indeed supposed to be mag coupling included in the set for the loco. The factory isnt fully up and running yet post Chinese New Year, but in the meantime if you email us support@accurascale.co.uk with your order number for TPE Mark 5s we will send you out a pack of the mag bar couplings.
Apologies for this, something we missed.
Cheers!
Fran
Sent the email shortly after this post was popped up, already had notification that there is an order on way of couplings for me!
Now THAT is service! -

So my tracking number came through at 530, but its not working on the DHL website, does anyone know if this means that it missed todays collection and will be collected tomorrow instead?

We won't release any remaining stock until every preorder is dispatched, so at the moment it's looking like another day or two.
Apologies for the small additional stretch
Well thats a relief, I was getting worried my pre-order shipping notification had not arrived and any excess was due to be released today :)
I can breath easier again :)- 2

If you haven't built a whitemetal kit, would suggest you start with a simple inside-cylinder 0-6-0.
Then move on to something with ouside motion. There's four sets of Walschaerts valve gear on a U1 and assembling them will take quite a bit of effort.
Sounds like a plan, any particular kit on the market you would recommend? -
What passengers and driver make are people fitting to these coaches?

I am considering my future model requirements and one thing I want to have is a U1 2-8-0 + 0-8-2 locomotive.
I am conscious that I have no experience in kit building.
I have done some soldering in the past with passable results so looking to work on the next stage. What do people recommend for a good kit to start on with a view to building up the skills to eventually be able to build the DJH version of the loco.
Thanks
Shane

Be sure you add your email to the 'notify me' button on the pack's you have interest in, there IS always stock on hand once preorders are completed (likely released mid day Wednesday)
Oh guess that means I will get some delivery notifications in the next 48 hours :D -
Probably far too late but with the Coronation this year would have been an ideal time for considering a Royal Train collection although I suspect there may not be a big market for it but if you don't suggest you don't get!
I am not just thinking about the modern MK3 based one but older versions through the years.

Does anyone have any recommended couplings or modifications that they have completed in the past to convert the Hornby GUV to taking an NEM coupling so that I can get it compatable with the rest of my yellow rake.

I can recall one layout that I really liked the design of but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was called!
It appeared in Railway Modeller and was a transition era layout with a double track main line and a steam MPD with a diesel fuel point on part of it. It had a lovely 4 or 5 track steam depot (looked very similar to the Thomas the Tank Engine shed used to store the crane in the Thomas Series) I can also remember a picture of a 4mt loco being lifted by a small yard crane for maintenance.
I would love to remember the name if anyone recognises the layout!Would have been published around 30 to 25 years ago,

I spotted this the other day and thought that looks great, disappointed to find the file is no longer available, has it been released anywhere else?

Whats that one, not heard of it?

Brilliant cheers Crosland

Hello all
I am looking around for an alternative DCC controller following the apparent failure of my Bachmann Dynamis and the SPROG 3 looks the favorite moving forward.
I have plans to develop a layout and a test track, will I need two separate SPROG 3s to make this work or am I able to share the software between two different computers? (test track attached to desktop computer and layout will be a laptop).

The IP is of little use or value without the .STL file and it's probably worthless in any event if somebody else owns any existing tooling or the .STL file. As I suggested in respect of the 'King' what could be a realistic approach is for the crowdfunders to get together and approach the liquidators to obtain what exists of complete CADs and acertain who has possession of the .STL file. The only place you are likely to get any sort of answer is from the liquidators.
IF anyone was to band together to offer to buy the IP and the .STL file for the APT I would be willing to invest in that project with a view to getting them made.
That said I have also been encouraging DToS to approach another manufacturer and hopefully restart the project with them. -
To be honest mate, i have not kept their contact details after mailing them asking to transfer their 'expressions of interest' to the new site if they were interested in the no frills one. Basically with all this hoo ha about data protection i felt it was better to expunge those contact details from my system, and start afresh.
It is early days still, and as has been said elsewhere, christmas is coming.
I do have a database of names and preferences though, which i will compare in a couple of weeks once back from my jaunt east next week.
Ah just spotted this, explains why I did not hear anything back about new payment process, if it possible yet to do DD payments?

Hi all
I have two Bachmann Class 221 Voyagers and both are exhibiting the same problem of slow running with a full load of 5 cars.
I would like to try servicing them myself to see if it has any effect. Does anyone have any guides or advise on servicing them?
