  1. Thanks Shane Got home tonight and found that I could "see the light" Thanks Patrick
  2. Hi Shane If you look at the driving wheels and, if yours are the same as mine, you will see that the wheels have a small section of see through spokes. But these sections are at the top of the wheels instead of being placed at the rails. There is no see through sections at rail level, where it counts. I can only think that the wheels assembly should be turned around and put on the alternative sides so give the spaces at the right position. The connecting rods and cylinders shouldn't give much hassle as they are "on the same line" Trust that sounds okay--took me a long time to think it through. Patrick
  3. Just to say that my King's driving wheels have been put in the wrong way round! The open part of the spokes are at 12 o'clock instead at 6 o'clock resting on the "track". The tender wheels are ok. First time I've come across such a glaring mistake. The rest of it is ok, but waiting for Weatherman's review before being certain!
  4. The V2 has always been listed on the back of the card backing. Didn't think it would make it so I am delighted it's arrived!!
  5. Hi Alex Only just come across your site. Not really late 60s, but I well remember back in the early 60s going to evening classes and returning from Euston Square to Kings Cross St Pancras at about 8:00pm (only one station -- lazy s*d wasn't I). But the real reason was to hope to see the early evening steam freights running from Paddington to Smithfield Meat Market -- which ceased when the market closed down for redevelopment. The pannier tank would be heading probably 8/10 vans and brake, all BR to Smithfield. Sometimes I would see empties returning to Paddington. I would often miss my train waiting to see them. It has been said that the panniers had condensing equipment, but I don't recall this. A note I read elsewhere stated that the panniers were fitted with cab curtains to reduce smoke and fumes! It was of course great fun to watch and to remember. Patrick
  6. Next issue up on site now. It's the GWR 45XX tank!
  7. The list of models in the magazine contains the following still to come:- GWR 'King', LSWR 'T9', HST Power Car, 'Rocket', GWR Castle (next), BR 4MT 2-6-4T, SR 'N', 'Western', LMS Princess. (not the Trix Twin* or Tri-ang ones I trust!) and LNER J39. ---------- Thanks, Il Grifone, Apart from the Compound, we must not forget the V2 still mentioned on the back of the card sheet! Or do we assume that might not happen?
  8. Issue 10 still says "cover price plus £0.50 postage" Looks as though we could all wait for the ones we really want when published on their website. At least we are not in limbo as "your model railway village" says nothing about future contents unless you have the magazine!
