  1. got 12"/ft 22 and 10 rb 's both rigged as cranes from mid 1970's and 1940's if you need some overall dims to scale from , unless you want to come and measure /photo yourself . located nr manchester , short train ride from picc stn
  2. interesting that this still goes on all are kept in a loft layout area all get used periodically ie little in winter lots at other times of year of my stock all poole steam locos after a decade of storage were cleaned up and worked fine similarly 47's and 101's - all brass gears also converted lifelike gp 40 chassis- despite hauling metal kit bodies around most of these date from the 1980's , some secondhand when i bought em lima 55 and 31 dead - terrible model anyway but all there was so far no problems with new 20/31/37/44/45 types bought in the last 5 - 7 yrs the only plus to this issue - an auction site has provided me with a number of cheap locos due to gear problems - mainly 25's and dmu's br lines seems to have no problem supplying gears and whilst it is not that difficult to do i too would be rather annoyed of the only new loco's i have fail in the same way
  3. dont think anybody makes these - surprising really as it was a major failing on the old farish body i have used 00 etched signal ladders to improve old farish 25's before - langley's i think, almost the right size for cantrail grill frame i scribed the grill behind first , roll the ladder round a file handle and stuck it on looks much better than the origional and relatively easy , after sorting out the doors/glazing/ bogies/underframes etcetc
  4. have a look at military modelling - dan taylor modelworks and milicast do etches for mirrors wipers etc mainly aimed at military trucks which are of course 1930's -50's era , as well as many truck types which went on to civvl life postwar , often with no change other than tyres
  5. wcml /northern emu,s please - some types long lived in several liveries , even oddities like bury and hadfield units used body/cab types common to other br units surprised Hornby have not announced an 0-6-0 RR sentinel diesel - be nice in n gauge , useful to 009ers as well
  6. thanks again , i have found some photos of gamecock, all of same side of course, so before i do a corgi , is the other side the same? , interestingly one on flickr is a WR unit in twotone (bw photo) and has one window less on crew cabin . i presume plain green is ok for my LM vehicle in the early 60's
  7. many thanks mr jones , now need to decide whether to make a 1 off or a master and cast a few . I guess there is a photo somewhere on here of the earlier gamecock , might do one of those as well since you have provided such good info i do like it when i can get it right
  8. s&t yellow crewbus - does anybody have dimensions for the pole carrier body as fitted to bedford tk's ? i was going to use oxfords as a guide to scratchbuild a 2mm version , seems it is not v accurate though . As an aside ,is this body the same as fitted to the gamecocks?
  9. not sure about the model , but the 303mm/ft one we have is a jones super 15 buit in letchworth , if you are modelling one they are only mobile on a hard surface
