I’d agree, these have been seen all over, with all sorts of locos but the question in this day and age, with the cost of materials and complexity of these is not “ can they make them “, but “ can they make them at a price they can sell them at ?”

I understand your point, I just don’t know the answer. I just think that if it’s possible these wagons should definitely be on the list to be produced in OO.

Most of the time any locos or wagons in Network Rail Yellow livery sell well. We know this from Bachmann and Dapol especially in terms of OO Gauge models.

There is also the wide geographical sphere that these wagons run in and can be found in. On Flickr there are photos of them in Toton Yard and Westbury Yard.

That’s not to mention the wide range of locos that can haul them including DRS 37s and GBRf 92s both of which Accurascale are also producing in OO. So they would complement the wagons really well.

  2. Hi again all,

Just another thought, what about the Network Rail Yellow HOBC wagons? I think they are coded YDA.

I know they are quite a complex design with a lot of detailing, but I feel that if anyone can produce this wagon it would be Accurascale, and I would think that Accurascale could produce them at a price that would make buying a few wagons to make a rake affordable.

These wagons regularly run top and tailed with Freightliner Class 66s but have also run with DRS, GBRf and Colas Class 66s, DRS Class 37s, 57s and 68s and even HNRC Railfreight liveried Class 20s, a Colas Class 47, a Colas Class 70 and a GBRf Class 92. This isn’t an exhaustive list either, just the first photo results that Flickr has shown me. So there is certainly a wide variety of traction that these wagons have and do run with.

They are certainly a very different wagon in terms of how they look and what they do. I can’t think of any other wagon that looks similar to these.

    Kind Regards,

    Danny.

Or anyone (like me) who has the Bachmann Collectors Club model of the loco in question! And yes, I have that 68 too 😂

I saw the train stranded this morning on my way to work, unfortunately being at work meant I didn't get to see the 37.

Yes one of the three Bachmann West Coast 37s will do. I believe they have produced 248, 706 & 669 in that order.

That’s a coincidence because I have 019 and 023 in TPE livery too.

Sorry to hear you didn’t see the 37, I didn’t see any part of the movements, I just saw some photos on Flickr and I thought others would be interested to know.

My class 68, now with added handrails (!), is sitting in it's box patiently waiting for some coaches to haul. Really looking forward to getting my hands on the Mk5s, they look amazing.

I think the wait will be really worth it. I have 019 and 023 in there boxes too, so that they don’t get dusty.

Funnily enough my model of 68031 failed on Monday night while on a test run awaiting the MK5’s so perhaps get it out for a little run!

My Brutus is on her 2nd motor, which as effectively failed.

The 1st motor stalled / burnt out when she separated from a train on a continuous loop, and 'gently bashed' into the back end, derailed when not 'supervised' and promptly burnt out, and melted the motor cradle.

The 2nd one has been running for at least 40-50 hours .. now just stalls, but confirm why.

This could possibly be burning out - so motor #3 on its way ....

    Al.

Sorry to hear about the problems with your 68s. Hopefully you can manage to get them operational and functioning properly soon.

    Kind Regards,

    Danny.

  4. I just thought I would let everyone know that West Coast Maroon liveried 37706 has rescued TPE liveried 68023 with a TPE MK5 set in tow today, after the 68 suffered a brake failure.

So if Accurascale announce a West Coast Maroon liveried 37 these can now also be used to haul TPE liveried 68s and MK5s.

A second bonus is that the failed 68 is one that Dapol have already produced in OO.

I hope this information is of use.

No matter how the livery would be laid out, I think it would look very smart on a 37.

Would they choose to have the light blue line part on the main body sides and compress the RailOperationsGroup name onto the nose sides?

Or, continue the light blue lines onto the noses and have the company name on the main body sides in the style of the 57/3's? That would have to take into account the body side radiator grills at the number 1 end.

    Anyway food for thought.

Their are certainly a few different ways that the ROG livery could be applied to a 37. It certainly would look different to a 47 and 57/3, the 37s having bodyside grilles.

I’m going for futuristic ROG green/blue livery like the artist render of the forthcoming class 93.

These are also good ideas and suggestions. With the idea of a livery like the barrier vans I just hope their would be a bit more too it as it is a bit basic. Although saying that sometimes the basic liveries can be quite nice.

I wonder how green would look on a 37? Apart from BR Green which is a different shade to the green to be worn on the forthcoming 93, I can’t think of any other occasions when we have seen green on a 37. It certainly would look different considering the current modern liveries on 37s don’t incorporate much green at all.

Wow that’s absolutely amazing! By that I mean the livery application, detailing, shape, everything.

Please can we have more Europhoenix and ROG 37s?

I have to say I would buy as many as I could. It’s such a brilliant livery and it has been perfectly executed by yourselves.

How about producing 510, 601, 611, 884 all like 608 in Europhoenix livery with ROG branding, 901 in Europhoenix livery without ROG branding as per the loco is currently running in reality and 800 in its new livery when it appears? I think that would please a lot of people.

You can always go back and produce the ex DRS machines in Compass livery then too haha!

Suggestions and joking aside excellent work, this really is going to be a superb model.

Danny, I consider NSE livery to be modern 🤣

Banger blue or Large logo for me. I’m a child of  my time 😀

I definitely have no problem with thinking the old liveries are modern haha. I love the 37s that DRS have repainted over recent years. I love the Large Logo Blue on 37s too. It suits them so well.

Does it say whether it is a retro/reimagination of an old livery, or if it is a completely new livery?

Although saying it hasn't been worn by a 37 (as opposed to work by anything) does make me think it's not new.

It does say it’s a new livery and it doesn’t mention that it’s anything BR/retro related. I was thinking this myself too initially, until I re-read the post a few times and it definitely says a new livery. Hopefully it will be something as good as the Europhoenix livery it will be covering up.

Just a note that anyone wanting MOAs or MBAs is best off looking at the Bachmann ones IIRC, far better than the Dapol ones.

Exactly, I wasn't saying it was a bad suggestion in terms of what it was, more questioning how many people would want them. If I had a bottomless pit of money and more storage sidings I'd be keen.

I think that is the main difficulty. I have an AS 55, because I never had a 55 before (Bachmann one wasn't good enough IMO for something so never got one of those), likewise the 31 as Hornby hasn't made one relevant for my layout. So for me it is only the 37 I am in a position of needing to consider replacement. The 5 AS ones I have on order do not conflict with my Bachmann ones, but if AS announce Colas or WCRC next run then I have a decision to make. I am half tempted to flog my 2 WCRC 37s anyway to maximise value as I will be very surprised if AS don't do these eventually!

I totally get your view and you make a good point. I suppose the good thing is is even if Accurascale wanted to produce the MWA tomorrow it most likely wouldn’t be with us until early 2024. That gives time for the demand for wagons to increase, especially box/aggregate wagons which as you say have already been produced by other manufacturers.

    Network Southeast? 🤔

Funnily enough I have seen comments by a few people suggesting that.

The last time we saw new liveries on 37s were Europhoenix and Colas liveries a few years ago, so let’s hope it’s something as nice as those. I do love those particular liveries.

NSE is also nice too of course.

  10. Europhoenix have last night confirmed on there Facebook page that 37800 will receive a repaint in the coming weeks, into a livery that hasn’t been worn by a Class 37 before. This is clearly one for us all, especially Accurascale to watch.

I hope this is of interest.

The only negative I would have to say about this is how many different types of present day/recent aggregate wagons do we need? At the moment the following are available (or would be if another run was done), excluding Network Rail stuff (DB/EWS branded wagons used on their runs too) which is a different use. Bear in mind that hoppers and boxes get used interchangeably on some routes.

    HIA - Freightliner - Dapol

MJA -Freightliner and GBRF - Dapol

JNA - Pretty much everybody - Revolution

    HYA - GBRF - Accurascale

HOA - Pretty much everybody - Revolution

Bardon/AI JGA - GBRF? - Cavalex (although not sure they are doing a recent livery)

Nacco JGA - Freightliner or GBRF - Bachmann (not been done for a while)

JHA - Freightliner - Dapol (not sure a present day livery is on theirs?)

I have probably forgotten some. I have the 4 in bold, and so I don't feel I need any more of this type of wagon in all honesty! I wonder if a lot of the market feels the same.

You have a point, in terms of box/aggregate wagons that are already available, I hadn’t thought of it that way.

I was thinking of it more in a way of that box wagons have been and remain to be good sellers for Dapol and Revolution. Dapol offer the IOAs, MJAs as twin sets and JNAs along with the EWS liveried MOAs although these haven’t been released for a while, but they do have the tooling for them. Revolution also had success with the JNA-Ts which were released in several liveries in 2018/2019 I believe.

As of yet Accurascale don’t have a modern image low or high sided box/aggregate wagon in there range. I just thought it would be a good way of progressing in terms of wagons as other manufacturers successfully have. Also we have a wide range of Bachmann and Hattons 66s and Bachmann 70s to run with FL liveried MWA wagons, that are already available, so in terms of appropriate traction to haul these wagons their is no problem on that front.

I understand your point though, I suppose it just depends how sufficient Accurascale think the demand is.

    Kind Regards,

    Danny.

  13. Bachmann OO Gauge DRS Compass Class 37/4 37419 Renumber DCC Fitted (Reduced to clear £100)

For sale is a Bachmann OO Gauge DRS Compass liveried Class 37/4 numbered 37419.

This loco has been professionally renumbered from an original Bachmann DRS 37405 model to 37419. Please note that no nameplates are fitted to or come with this model. However if the new owner wishes these can be bought from Rainbow Railways. I have no relation to this shop other than being a happy customer. The label on the box contains the details and information for the original 37405 model before it was renumbered.

This model is used, but has had very little running time and is in excellent condition. This model is almost/like new.

This loco is DCC Fitted with a Bachmann 21 Pin DCC Decoder.

This loco runs smoothly in both directions and all directional and cab lighting works.

All buffers, horns, aerials and NEM couplings are fitted and intact.

The condition of this loco is 10/10.

This model comes complete with an unopened detailing pack, paperwork, packaging and the original box.

The condition of the box is 9/10.

Please note that this loco has only been categorised under the 'used, unboxed, modified and evidence of use' section as it has been renumbered, and I wanted to be honest and truthful about this when listing this loco in the Classifieds section here on RMWeb. This loco has seen very little use, comes in packaging and the box from the donor/original model, the only modification it has received is the renumbering of the loco from 37405 to 37419, and their is very little evidence of use. This loco is in excellent condition and is almost/like new.

If you have any questions please ask.

  20. Dapol OO Gauge IKA Megafret Twin Packs (x4) 4F-046-001 (Weathered)

For sale is a set of eight (four pairs/sets) of Dapol OO Gauge IKA Megafret Wagons that are factory weathered. All eight wagons come with 45' Stobart Less Co2 Containers that simply can be fitted by sitting them on top of the wagons. The wagons are weathered but the containers are not. This is how they came produced and supplied by Dapol. The Dapol product code for these twin packs of wagons is 4F-046-001.

These wagons are used but have only been run on a layout for a few hours at the most. This is why I have described these wagons as like new in the description above.

All eight wagons come fitted with buffers, NEM couplings on the outer ends of each twin set and the small screws and coupling hooks that require fitting between each pair of wagons. I have removed all of the small screws and coupling hooks except one coupling hook which didn't want to be removed from one wagon. Rather than damage the coupling hook I left it attached to one wagon. In between each pair of wagons a small hook has to be applied and two screws screwed in to attach each pair together. All of these are included for the new owner to fit back on. On the outer end of each pair of wagons NEM couplings are already fitted.

Extra spares (including coupling hooks) and detailing packs are supplied with these wagons as I haven't opened or used them. These are in the boxes.

Four of the containers are numbered as '28' and the other four containers are numbered '76'.

I am selling these wagons as I have too much stock on my layout and I require some space.
