  1. Added a very small siding at the other end of the layout and dug out an old Dapol/airfix engine shed, built and weathered it maybe a bit to much 🧐 had to angle it due to the track direction but worked out ok. just got to find the fan blade that fell off
  2. I got these street lamps at while back, not sure why I chose them as not a fan of the chrome, I stuck a row of them to a piece of wood using foam tape so the lenses were masked, then blasted them with grey etch primer, for a concrete look. also snipped the ball off the top :)
  3. Made a zebra crossing out of vinyl tape, not sure on that yet, but the Belisha beacons I’ve had in a box for over a year are in! Also some railing.
  4. Big updates over the weekend! Managed to finish the path slabs (took ages!) painted and positioned the rest of the railings along the paths. Flocked the embankment added some greenery and gave the road a repaint with a lighter grey. Also painted the surrounding walls for the factory area, just weathering them up now. will hopefully get some shots tomorrow with everything back in place when the paint has dried.
  5. 90% finished on the crossing keepers cottage need to move the porch roof up a bit !
  6. I spent all evening weathering the halt, the knight wing kit is really nice. 👍
  7. Small update! mainly because i started another layout!! see sig for details! Still weighing up the factory end. in the 2nd image below, i like the look of the "Frys" and "Importers" buildings, but with a low relief factory Infront? not sure. what do you all think? 🤔 pavement laid all the way across the layout now. parking space provided for the accountant, park their at your peril! so the goods shed has been replaced with this one, the Wills craftsmen shed, a step before scratch building they say, quite an enjoyable build. this one is a little more modern than the last and in keeping with the 60's 70's era of this layout. The old goods shed is now on my new shelf layout, Westwells Halt.
  8. My 2nd layout on RMweb, mainly because after getting the majority of my other layout done (21" Diameter Micro) i have a ton of spare bits and decided to make use of a shelf in the box room. The layout will be GWR and will be based around the 40's and 50's, heavily inspired by Chis Nevard's "Catcott Burtle" which is possibly my favorite layout ever! Track is Peco code 100 that was in my stash, so no purchase required there, infact the only purchase thus far was the knightwing Halt kit here's what i have so far! The base is 3 x Large Diorama sections bolted together, currently awaiting foam board to build up the layers, then will be cutting out the front section to create a small stream. The Crossing keepers cottage started out as a Wills craftsmen CK11, still a WIP Goods shed has been stolen from my other layout, it was a bit to old for the 70's 80's feel so have moved it to this layout. The Knightwing Halt kit
  9. Finally finished the butchers shop awning, another job I was putting off! A bit rough with painting but I can weather those bits out perhaps
  10. Small update! I’ve been putting this off for a long time but am now adding the paving slab by slab. I have also modified my class 43 hst and 110 dmu with txs sound, will sort a video soon!
  11. not the only one i see :( glad you got sorted, its a shame as nice kits!
  12. just to update this thread, i purchased some modelux kits on ebay and parts were missing, got ignored on eBay until i left neg feedback, they responded to feedback that they would refund and send new kit. this didn't happen so sent the lot back and wont be dealing with them again. such a shame but here we are! :(
  13. The factory gate I bought in 2022 is finally built 🤣 think I’m getting to like this end a bit more. excuse all the black tack!
  14. its a mix i made from games workshop paint set i got for Xmas, and another set that was different colour washes. just build up in layers really, then use some humbrol weathering powders to blend in
  15. hour or so later! finally the other side of the layout getting some love. weathering need a bit more work! the warning sign comes from the superquick road bridge. need to source a tunnel picture to place behind to give depth
  16. I cannot find a decent road under bridge, so am making one!
  17. yes i tried a 4 wheel coach and noticed the noise, but it sort of sounded realistic :) welcome to the small radius club!
  18. hi sleepyrider, a bit late replying but can confirm a terrier goes round fine! it is an older model also not the newer one. but a nice little addition
  19. Very simalar images I know but with differing backdrops, I’ve cut that back scene to shreds 🤣
  20. moving backrounds about, leave it a day, moving it again :)
  21. still weighing things up. today i applied the background (peco) ive been putting it off for ages i used the backscene adhesive too, cost a pretty penny but im not a fan of the outcome. i should have just got some sky blue paint really :) ill come back to this, its nice to have some sort of background at last, even if this one wont stay, OK for now Moving things about, trying to get a look, pretty sure i am set on the building placement now. i need to sort the paving out too. whats there now is being used as a template to have another go with the Metcalfe paving kit.
