Lovely shots but have they been scanned the wrong way round? Just looking at the hinges on the smokebox doors.....
Jon F.
My apologies for not having responded before, Jon. But you're right, and I hadn't noticed. I think I'll be able to improve that (and some other) shots when/if the negs come to hand; and of course to scan them the right way round.

I posted earlier a photo of a Belgian loco (at least I'd thought it was Belgian) Turns out I did manage to step back and take a 'proper' photo and I came across the negatives earlier today (looking for something else, of course!), so, for completeness, here it is.
I now know that it was a DRG class 64 and that the railway on which it was running was the Chemin de Fer a Vapeur des 3 Vallees in Mariembourg, Begium (apologies as I've missed out some accents, but can't see how to apply them)

Slidebar: square section brass with a piece of square section tubing sliding on it?
Thanks. That might be the answer, Jeff: I'll see what tube is available

Well, I have got no further with the building of the Y9, partly because we've had the builders in so I couldn't get access to my workshop. I do now, but there's a layer of MDF dust all over the shop which I must clear away before I can resume activities there. The other reason is that I've got stuck, and would appreciate any advice on how to make a crosshead assembly for this loco, which is a single bar type - somehow I can't quite visualise it hence don't know where to start. Sorry if that sounds pathetic, but I'm just stuck - any advice will be appreciated.
I did complete the picture above and post it here if only to show that I do get things finished, even if only occasionally.
My thanks in advance.
Regards,
Cliff
