  1. problem resolved, many thanks to all all replied, if I had gone back to principles I would have realised where what had happened. Thats the problem when things are taken things to pieces and the person doesn't make notes. All the help was appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to me, loco is of split chassis construction with a circuit board mounted to both sides of the split chassis, this can't be fitted the wrong way round as the motor supply comes from two contacts that are located on on side only, plus it won't fit the other way round due to the bridging / chip location. 10 wires couldn't have been wired wrong surely.
  3. I've been asked to look at a Farish class 47 not chipped which has several problems. Major issue with the pickups which I can hopefully sort but the one that's baffling me is that the running lights are operating the wrong way round, Red when running forward with the other end showing white and yellow, this reveres when the power is reversed. Has anyone come across this before. Thanks in advance.
