  1. A couple of posts yesterday suggested there is copyright on some of the photos I posted earlier. I have not seen any of these photos before, so I cannot tell which ones have been published before and ones that haven't. Therefore the only way to make sure there is no more breaches of copyright is to end this topic.

It appears to have been quite popular and I would like to thank those people who posted extra details on many of the photos and all those who gave a “thumbs up”.

    Peter.

    Happy New Year, Peter (RRU),

Thank you for the excellent selection of photographs that you have scanned and posted in this topic.  From the 232 posted so far, there are many that I have never seen before, along with all those which have already been published in various books and magazines, throughout the last century.

It is a shame that all your pictures do not have more information on them, especially regarding the lack of the names of the photographers who took these superb historic records.

Thank you John for your comments and info on many of the photos. The quality and the amount of details with them are exactly as I received them and as I have never seen any of them before I have no idea if they have been published or not.

The level of detail and the amount of it that has been posted by several people has surprised me and I am very grateful.

There is only around 1,000 to go.

    Peter

There will now be a pause for two days because of the holidays. Its a double celebration for me as 26th December is my birthday.

I wish all of you and your families a very merry Christmas.

    104) Vantastic! 1st, 3rd, 7th, and 9th are Midland D530 6-wheel clerestory passenger brake vans of 1896-1902. I'll have to revisit this with a magnifying glass later...

    105) First two vehicles are eithe M&NB or M&GSW joint stock (depending on whether the train is from Edinburgh or Glasgow) 50 ft corridor vehicles - passenger brake van D567 and third D564 - while the third is Midland - a 48 ft corridor dining carriage (no kitchen), either all first D442 or composite D445 - I can't make my mind up which.

    106) A W.L. Good photo, crisper version here. The carriages are one of the 48 ft close-coupled sets built 1907/8 for Birmingham suburban services, the prototypes of the well-known Ratio kits.

Thank you for your comprehensive replies.
