Hi, do you mind me asking how you wired up the lighting kit please? Especially in the dummy car! Thanks.

I have managed to fit the lighting kit to the power car but the dummy car has left me confused and I can get nothing out of it. Nothing from the decoder or the lights! I presume you take power from track left and right. I am using a socket. I have connected the white, blue and yellow wire to the corresponding pad on the socket for the decoder but nothing happens! The decoder works, as I’ve tried it in a different loco. Has anyone got any ideas or a wiring diagram please?! Thanks.

School boy error then! Not sure why I got it in my head it was a split chassis.... that’s probably why I couldn’t find a reference to it! So reading the link it seems the lights are the issue and making sure the decoder is more than adequate. I usually use a Lenz 8 pin. Is this suitable for the 56?! Thanks for putting me right!

Could anyone advise me how to do this please or refer me to any useful information! Also you can get a replacement Hornby power bogie. Is this an improvement or the same split chassis?! I know the latest one doesn’t have this issue but I am on a very tight budget! Thanks.

I would appreciate any help or pointers to getting the interior lights and destination lights working consistently in the three car unit please! At present there is no light or destination lights in the power car. The centre coach lights don’t work and the trailer car has just a bright light at the front and destination light flicks on and off as it goes around the layout. The directional lights work but need constant switching on. I understand from reading from other sources that the contacts are very poor and need hard wiring?! Does anyone have a guide to this and is it very difficult to achieve?! The whole body removal is a nightmare and I have managed to snap various things doing this! The design seems very poorly thought out and DCC seems to be an after thought. Thanks!
