  1. Hi everyone,

for those interested the "clean" silver bullets will be on sale

through all stockists participating in the BRM show at

Alexandra Palace in in 10 or so days time!

Normal stockists should get theirs by that weekend or at worst

    on the Monday morning.

The weathered ones will be with Kernow shortly after.

    I hope this helps?

    Cheers

    Dave

P.s. The N gauge clean variant order forms have just gone out to

  4. Hi everyone,

Just a quick 'heads up' for those interested.

I have uploaded pictures of the 'master' weathered Silver Bullet wagon in OO gauge to the Dapol web site Home page. www.Dapol.co.uk

This was created for us by Mercig Studios as a model for us to use when spraying our production models, and as such the finished item should look very close to this finish.

Please remember they are being produced exclusively for Kernow Model Railway centre and will not be available through other parties.

    cheers

  5. Hi Guys,

Thanks for the comments and please keep them coming.biggrin.gif

We send out the 'barrels' (they are a 1 piece moulding with separate glue in ends) out to a company on the North Wales coast that chromes metal and plastic.

It isn't cheap, but in all honesty we knew that when we started the project, hence the RRP being higher than normal for a bogie wagon, but we hope everyone thinks its worth it.

    Cheers

    Dave

  6. Hi everyone,

Just in from the 'Chromers' the first 2 samples of Silver Bullet for you all to mull over for a bit.rolleyes.gif

I think they are too Chrome (if that's possible), but please let me know what you all think via this forum, and we'll go with the concensus.

They are on our home page. www.Dapol.co.uk

    Cheers

  7. Hi,

This is an easy one to reply to.

As noted the original pictures show plastic. This is because when the cad/cam program is transferred to the tooling machine it includes everything (including couplers) and these are all made in plastic.

So, when it comes to the first shot (used to check fit and look etc, we have plastic ladders and walkways etc. (this is always the case, and nothign to worry about)

Last Friday i published on our website a revised first shot picture with the metalwork added for effect.

    Hope this helps?

    cheers

  8. Hi,

It was laser scanned on thursday the 16th July at 1.47 in the afternoon (seriously) rolleyes.gif

they even scanned the complete underneat and the cab at the same time. The process took about an hour in total due to this new equipment (500,000 scans per second).

the first cad cam was available without the detail in August, with the picture you see on the web site available to us in late September.

since then we have played with the cad a little internally to allow as much space as possible for DCC board, motor, gears etc and of course weight.

We are still at the engineering phase but hope to be cutting metal quite soon.smile.gif

    hope this helps?

    cheers

    Dave

  9. Hi guys,

    1st shots are in smile.gif

Posted here and the same ones on our web site.

Rest assured all the plastic ladders, walkways, handrails etc are etched steel on the production model.

    cheers
