  1. Seariser4 sailing away from the sunrise this morning.
  2. Wall Update. Now that the Seariser is in it's final position we should see the first of the remaining 18 L sections arrive by boat on this evenings high tide. They should all be in position by the weekend and then the Seariser is free to leave for port. If i have an exact day and time i will let you know. There is another closure this weekend from 4am saturday morning until 10am sunday so we should also see quite a bit of work undertaken from the trackside too. The latest estimates for completion are now sometime in June but obviously this is always dependent on tide and weather conditions. The beach will remain out of bounds to the public until completion due to Health and Safety issues as some heavy plant may still be using the site. From my latest post on Dawlish Beach
  3. Steps to the beach at both ends and level access along the path. Hope that clarifys. SD
  4. Latest info. The final L is being put into position at Rockstone end this afternoon. Seariser will then move to ramp end when tide & weather permit at the start of the coming week. The last L will then be positioned and Seariser will return to Teignmouth within 7-14 days. The remaining work will be concluded over several weeks without any heavy plant needed. The walkway will be finished by concrete pour forming the new pathway and not precast slabs as previously thought. Some excellent site photos have just been posted on Dawlish Beach facebook page. Hope that helps to put some light on the final stages.
  5. Amazing pics as ever Don! I had wondered if they were demolishing the ramp as the diggers have been busy working that end. Your pic shows it still intact and looks as if there may be anchor points going up. Just for info if anyone is interested, we have a free to view period until Sunday evening on Dawlish Beach Cam should any of you wish to view. I am guessing that we will get the Seariser moved and the Seajack leaving around 6pm this evening (Weds) www.dawlishbeach.com/now
  6. For those who wanted the Meteor footage then i'll post the link. The footage was viewed by the experts at the royal observatory and they believe it is a meteor of a few inches diameter. It was heck of a glow for something so small. It's not the ISS coming down or a flare of any type as it only lasts a few seconds. It looks to have fallen somewhere beyond chesil beach or burnt up completely. It really is amazing what you spot when watching the repairs. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1553734574884188&set=vb.1392107411046906&type=2&theater Spotlight came very late for the show so they have it on their facebook page. not sure if they will feature it tomorrow instead as they were still asking for info at 6.25pm
  7. I read that with such disappointment CK. I believe this whole stretch should be treated as a national monument and be finished in its original appearance. It's going to look like an eyesore at some point and we sure as heck wouldn't get away with that if we were building on our own property. It should all be in keeping with the local area i believe is the standard line. I can't imagine for a second if the Houses of Parliament needed repairs that it would be finished in grey concrete?
  8. Thought some may enjoy this if not already seen. Hope it works https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1549665651957747&set=vb.1392107411046906&type=2&theater
