Many thanks forn your replies, I check all my decoders on a test rig, they are all set to address 3. I tried changing them to another address i.e. 1536 and the direction lighting works correctly. There does not appear to be a place in the Lenz system for altering the operating of function for latching. Any way the main problem has been resolved, just have to sort out why it is only address at some point Regards Roland

Decoders are Lenz Gold, Various Bachmann and Guagemaster. I will try tomorrow with railroad disconnected

If I set function 0 the fwd light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off. Turn function 0 off and then back on and the light comes on but goes off after a few seconds. Reset the decoder and the same happens.

I seem to have a number of decoders that after reset the bi directional lamps come on and then go off. Cannot find any reason for this even after a reset of the decoder. They are differnt manufacture, Any ideas would be grately appreciated

Is it possible to alter the maximum speed on Hornby decoders. CV5 and 6 do not appear in their CV tables. Any help would be appreciated as trying to match it in Railroad & Co speed profiles. Any help would be appreciated.
