  1. Suspect Accurascale have various livery permutations in mind for the second run of 55’s but I’ll throw the following liveries into the ring. Credit to the original image photographers/owners……
  2. Getting quicker …. Tulyar done in about 35 minutes 👍🏻 There’s the added bonus that the 1960’s green versions have less parts to fit - especially the small orange eth receptacles that very easily flirt from between tweezers 😚👍🏻
  3. The recesses definitely make life easier as opposed to lugs into holes (as the lugs are always oversized/holes too narrow). It’s just that my fingers aren’t as small & nimble for applying fiddly bits. Only 12 more locos to sort out !! 😗
  4. Precisely an hour to add nameplates & bufferbeam details to KOYLI. Please please Accurascale can the next batch include factory fitted detailing at one end. Need to touch up the odd pipe now where the tweezers cracked off the factory white paint. Still a cracking model though !!
  5. Fox Transfers York Crest added to 55011. Railtec also produce these. Under a magnifying glass I noticed that the depot sticker is already a YK one. I winced a bit though when I lifted the model up only to notice that a full cab side window had popped out. Luckily this was found & refixed in place.
  6. I was a tad concerned when I saw the damage to the outer packaging. Whilst the main box is crumpled I can live with that. More importantly Koyli emerged from its rough ride unscathed ! Bar a tiny loose detail from between the fuel tanks ….
  7. Just ordered a 55011. Managed to obtain York crests from Fox Transfers but does anybody know if any company produces York depot stickers in 00 gauge to apply over what I’m assuming will be the factory supplied Gateshead stickers ? Thankyou.
  8. Tell me about it 😚 I’m going to have to psyche myself up for 24 bufferbeams to be fettled ! I’m hoping it’s not absolutely necessary to unscrew each beam in order to add the detailing .
  9. Fleet increased even further today with the arrival of 3 more from Rails of Sheffield. Just Koyli to arrive now. Loose chains, below buffer steps & 1960’s horns reattached. Just the matter of bufferbeam detailing to add now. Fantastic models. Thanks Accurascale.
  10. Apologies if this question has been asked already but will the models come straight out the box with NEM type couplings at either end or couplings at one end with buffer beam pipes etc already factory fitted at the other ? I’ve 10 on order direct with Accurascale & Rails of Sheffield so will be a very busy beaver if each end of each model requires the pipework fitting by the customer. Can’t wait for the models to arrive. Thank God the likes of Accurascale have entered the market. Thankyou.
  11. Thanks to Fran & all the Accurascale team for taking onboard people’s comments. It was previously unheard of to be able to communicate with manufacturers & for them to actually take notice ! Thanks lads ! The amount of variations within a small class of 22 locos is incredible & all credit to Accurascale for incorporating all these.
  12. Possibly this side of the loco - the side that doesn’t include the nose side exhauster access panel was the side with the offset nameplate ..... Credit to the original photographer.
  13. There’s a point - are the models being supplied with transfers over which the purchaser can apply etched plates that may or may not being supplied with the model ? Thankyou. Really looking to the painted samples of these models then the genuine articles next Spring.
  14. Hi Fran, I’m just completing an 0 gauge 55017 model & my attention has been drawn to the fact that one of the Durham Light Infantry’s nameplates was slightly off centre ! Not sure which particular side of the loco or whether Accurascale want to replicate this on their model ? Appears the loco had the nameplate incorrectly positioned in both green & blue livery eras. Kind Regards
  15. Remember photting 37414 at Rhymney.......when a local teenager misread the loco headboard and asked me what "Trash (thrash !) in the Valleys was !!
  16. One end detailed. Just been on all fours on the kitchen floor looking for the other red draw gear hook to no avail at first then noticed that it had landed on a chair !!
  17. With thanks to Stewart's heads up the Hornby Magazine image of the bufferbeam details would suggest that they are applied in the following order (left to right) ..... Hope the hole and pipe lug sizes are compatible !
  18. Has anybody applied the bufferbeam details yet ? I notice there's differently shaped receptacle holes but without any illustrations that I can see on the instruction sheets it's a reference to prototypical images :) The drawgear hook itself seems to be red on the green liveried version.
  19. Must admit that I haven't trawled back through all the 40 odd pages of this thread but an EMR buffer fitted HST power car set in the full branding would be nice
  20. Looking at the Antics on line website they've recently revised their warehouse delivery date for the 50's from Sept. 2nd to Dec.31st Hattons still advertising an Aug to Sept delivery though.
  21. Just been admiring my model and I can only echo Dreadnought's comment....what a stunning model ! In addition to an excellent representation of the prototype it also includes decals, works plates and an assortment of shed plates. A well received provision and something other manufacturers would do well to repeat. Also a sizeable donation to the owning group of the prototype Full marks to Steve and all involved in the production of the model. A Class 22, 24 or 27 next would be great. Maybe even a Co - Bo ? The full size D5705 and D8233 are currently keeping one another company at the ELR's Baron Street Works......and I'm looking forward to taking an image of my numbered up 0 gauge version sat on the running board of it's 1:1 scale namesake
  22. Images are up on Rails of Sheffield website.
