I'd say yes to the vertical tank and the pipe run. I have part of the gaugemaster fuelling set and plan to do something similar on a future build. Not enough room on my clay build but one day...

Very tempted tu use one of those kits on my tiny builds. Nice to hear you're pleased with it. The layout looks to be shaping up nicely.

Small is good, always loved Silvertown since the Railway Modeller article/plan in the late 70s(?)

You may want to consider a dab of filler over the joint of the two wood backscene panels. I've no experience of papering over a joint but could be inviting a problem.

My go to epic is Portwey by Julian . Small simple but very effective. A search on micro layout forum here should find it. There is another Portwey that is diesel based so that should allow you to differentiate.

That's definitely giving me inspiration for a future layout!
Rich, check out Machen on Google, such a simple loading system crying out to be modelled. I've used a faller conveyor kit but only used one spruce. It is a tad short but some plastruct I beam will sort that.

Another variation on a familiar theme. Edenley quarry loading point. Inspired by Machen pictures it will be a tuning fork with possibly a kick back for a loco or crippled wagon. I'm afraid I'm too tight to buy some rock moulds so made use of a strip of styrene attacked with a knife, screwdriver and blow lamp!

Looks fantastic! The groundwork and greenery is all very tidy, and the whole layout has a nice consistent, blended-together feel. The little details are truly bringing it together.
How are you finding the operation of the trackplan? It looks like your headshunt is quite short!
It is a snug fit but my pannier and 08 fit well, I assume other small wheel bases would fit 🤞

Loving all the little additions that keep appearing!
Thanks Rich, I like the stage when you start adding little extras to breathe some life into a scene. Titivating as the wife calls it!

Got to love the S and D. Dad took us poking around Highbridge works in the mid to late 60s. So scared we were going to get arrested! I assume you have seen the Betjeman video? I could almost watch it on repeat.

That looks like a fantastic track plan, with plenty of options for interesting passenger runs and freight shunting. Maybe if you made an opening on the spur track you could run longer engines, or maybe even connect another fiddle yard and have trains passing eachother.... I may have to take note of this one!
Nice idea, perhaps another build as I have just bought some DPM parts that will make another nice low relief factory so can see me heading this way again... I've really enjoyed this build (apart from the platform!).

Just wondering how long the stub end of the centre track is - I'm guessing it will serve just as a loco release / run-round? Looks like an 08 may be OK, but not a bogie loco? Just wondered, Keith.
It will take a pannier or an 08. Think a pannier is more in keeping with the build but if it hung on until the 70s who knows...

Edenbury Town has morphed into Edenvale, home of Dytes Pumps. The chance find of some Skytrex low relief buildings that were purchased many moons ago have become the basis of the engineering works the office coming from a DPM kit bought for fiver at a car boot! As well as a siding fo Dytes there will be some staithes for household coal in the other siding. The footbridge is unashamedly Airfix but then all the scenery items were in stock here and I love a freebie!

I like your 3d effects with the overlays and careful use of the "scenes" on the backscenes. I agree with Andrew above, it is a lovely layout.

Cracking building, that's got real character. Fell like you want step inside and lose hours flicking through the racks. I claim Hunky Dory, Sgt Pepper (?) And King Crimson. Only know KC as I have been thinking about trying some Fripp.

I really like this and am tempted to do something similar. Can you tell me the size of the really useful wrapping box? I think they are in liters aren't they??
Hi PB Shed, it is a 22 litre box designed for wrapping paper. Whitefurze do something slightly bigger and possibly cheaper. The pennies you save on plastic you can spend on more static grass!
I have a china clay (wrapping paper size) on the go and been meaning to post some pictures up

A lovely build to which you set your own picture. To me it's 8.40, midweek and behind the shop doors staff are getting ready for another busy day. Passing cars are largely the solicitors and accountants getting ready for an 8.55 open up. Love this layout, thanks for sharing.
