    Morning all, my first thought was the thermocouple as well so mention it to the engineer when they turn up it might save a small fortune. It will look like a bit of copper piping running from the flame area down to the control block. My mum had a condensing boiler installed by the council and said her gas consumption had halved so it should be possible to work out a payback time for an instalation.

    I was long ago told if you can't take a joke you shouldn't have joined but for some reason Don's joke just didn't raise a smile I'm not certain why, DD's shock news perhaps bringing back memories of a workmate who died at 42 his kids were just two years older than mine so his youngest is now 15 having lived 13 years without him.It was his death that convinced me that working for a living was better than living for work.

    Horay it's back still haven't wired up my shunty plank I have even been playing games on my computer! The P4 boxfile has moved closer to launching (3 boxfiles all P4) All I need now is sleep roll on half term holidays.

    I had to scrape ice off the windscreen at 5:30 and a friend tells me that the lowest temperature round here was -2 at 7:20! Winter draws on! You are not alone at 7.55 this morning I was clearing thin ice from the windscreen, up earlier tomorrow I think.

    Evening all I finally got my computer back and the forum is still working. Now only the ironing and toilets to do.

    I like this design in 3D. Did you also consider a power station? An easier option might be a loco along the lines of the L&Y battery loco with its pantograph for recharging,
