  1. Hello Gents, See the EM2 fit is creating interest. One thing you must do if milling the top of the chassis to accommodate an EM2 is to throw the motor mount as well as the PCB. The motor can then sit on top of the fuel tanks. I have found by experimentation that the EM2 sounds best when enclosed inside a body shell. I have just completed a new Deltic installation using two EM2's and two chips. The results are not cheap, however they are BIBLICAL. With the use of two independent sound files through two independent EM2 speakers it sounds like there really are two Napiers in there!!! Oooops I've done it now!
  2. Hello there, I have just finished working on a Bachmann Peak and Class 40. Both with EM2 monsters contained within. The Peak took a little more work helped by the addition of extra speaker power. I will be filming the results on Hawkswood Junction (Our little demo layout) in the next few days and will post on Youtube in the usual fashion. The 40 and Peak have now yielded to sound instead of having to use the"piffling" fuel tank or space on top of the behemoth of a chassis!!! Sound installations will be done in a separate dedicated workshop from mid September allowing the room that houses Hawkswood to return to a Railway Room. Steve, Merlin DCC.
  3. Hello there, Don't worry I am working on it so that the previous version can be upgraded. The new version employs the same speaker as before with the addition of the EM1 speaker set up. So it is half way there. The top of the chassis will require a degree of milling but should be perfectly doable, if that's a word. It is definitely worth the effort. Cheers Steve.
  4. Hello everyone, Thought I had better announce our latest development regarding the Deltic Sound Project. We have been trialing a new range of speakers, known as our new "Earth Mover" range. So far there are three variants EM1 to EM3.I have now shoe horned successfully one of these new EM1 speakers into a Deltic chassis. This also has the Alan Butcher speaker in there to keep it company! The result, I am afraid to say is now twice the bass and sound fidelity than it had before. Initial trials are looking really good and once it has finished being tested will be available as a conversion. A Deltic with this set up will be available for viewing at the 2016 Perth Show. Cheers, Steve, Merlin DCC, Part of the "Sound Team". working with Charlie and Legomanbiffo.
  5. "Earth Mover" update. We will also be showing the new monstrous Class 33 fit combining the Earth Mover and an Alan Butcher Speaker, this set up will take the Heljan 26/0, 26/1, 27 and 33 to new heights!! So don't look down.
  6. it's about time Bachmann held up their hands with the Dynamis and realised what a Windows 8 moment this really is. I purchased one last week to replace a ten year old Prodigy that had become life expired due in part to being dropped. Wish i hadn't bothered. Also got the Pro box and two extra IR receivers meaning four in total (one on each wall of a 20 x 10 foot room)!. Constantly dumping the signal even with the hand set inches away from a receiver!! Tried it without any lighting and it made no difference. You know, we live in a modern world with lighting, routers and other electronic devices in every household, My layout is in a building at the bottom of a long garden, do I go round all my neighbours asking them if they could kindly switch all their routers off!. A week later and I have bought another Prodigy Advance 2.
