I have also had many trouble free transactions with them over the years. I asked via their web form what type of decoder is installed and they initially said "The sound chip that the Bachmann 32-785DS is a Loksound V4 select decoder." So I asked :- My understanding is that these are two different products. The Loksound V4 is a full featured decoder that can have new sounds loaded if desired The Loksound Select is a cheaper version that cannot have new sounds loaded This is the reason for my question. Please can you clarify for me? They came back with "I can confirm that the Loksound select is the Loksound V4 select. You would not be able to have the sound modified." I can see that the info might be false so I could just order it and take a chance. Thanks for the replies, I appreciate the info.

I've just been told by Hattons that this 37 has a Select chip. 32-785DS Class 37/0 37254 in BR Departmental Civil Link Dutch livery - weathered. DCC Sound V4.0 As a newbie to DCC sound this has put me off buying it. Am I correct in thinking that if it was a proper V4 I could have it re-blown with better sounds if I am not happy with the supplied ones, but I cannot do this with a Select? Shame, I really wanted a Dutch 37.
