  1. Thanks everybody, yes it is a split chassis model. I'll try the plastic insert exchange, if I read the response correctly that is what you are proposing? I will also make sure the back to back on the wheels is correct. I did muddle with the quartering but it wasn't easy. I have corrected the wobble abit but not quite enough to my satisfaction yet.
  2. My Bachmann standard class 4MT waddles like a duck at least a cm each way as it moves down the track. Anybody know how to cure it?
  3. Don't think there is a Dynamis firmware update. Remarkable silence on all fronts regarding Dynamis and Railcontroller.
  4. I am building a new layout and testing all my locomotives before I commence the scenic options. The Main layout is controlled via Bachmann's Dynamis Ultra and Railcontroller software. The programming track is controlled via a Sprog II controller. I have one loco so far that I can 'run' and 'interrogate' on the programming track. It has an ESU Loksound V4 decoder. It works perfectly. However when I transfer it to the Mainline it does not react at all, no movement, no sound. It worked perfectly on my previous layout. Other locomotives with the same or different decoders all seem to work in both the programming and the mainline environments. I have tried redefining the loco and decoder on both the Dynamis system and the Railcontroller system. No change. Please does anybody have any suggestions as to how to 'debug' this problem. Please don't suggest dumping Dynamis. Although I'm not at all happy that Bachmann seems to have lost interest in their computer software. I think my last option would be to reset the decoder back to default using value8 in CV8 and seeing if that gives the decoder a kick start. Although the decoder wouldn't seem to be the issue based on the fact it works using the Sprog II. Paul
  5. I don't think anyone was 'slagging' Kernow at all. In fact I would praise them. I quickly received a message from Greg advising that it was OK to bridge the fuse and another one confirming that removal of the fuse would not invalidate any warranty. Just to confirm I had the issue with no load at all just the loco running on my programming track on a rolling road setup. Thanks to everybody for all the advice and the resolution to the issue.
  6. Even this doesn't work. The only solution without undergoing surgery right now is to turn off the sound. I also changed cvs 9 and 56 to reflect coreless motors with no effect. The fuse still trips. I await a response from the people at Kernows.
  7. Thanks very much, I sent forum discussion to Youchoos (supplier of my Zimo decoder) and they immediately responded that the Zimo decoder automatically have overload protection switched on. I think I will wait to do any snipping until I hear back from Kernow models.
  8. I have a perplexing problem and wondered if you could give me any advice. I put my new Kernow warship class 41 through the customary running in on my DC track test rolling road. half an hour each direction at half speed. It ran perfectly. I soldered a speaker to an MX644D with stay alive sound chip from Zimo and installed it in the locomotive. Tested it with the body removed on my DCC programming track rolling road. It took the address change and ran it in both directions. All fine. I use the Dynamis Ultima controller with the handset or Railcontroller on main layout. Now the issue; if I run the locomotive with the sound and direction turned on it will run quite comfortably at a scale 50mph for approximately a minute and then it stops with a strange regular ticking sound and the direction lights flash at the same rate as the tick. This happens on the mainline as well as the rolling road. It only stops ticking when I turn off the power to the track using the emergency stop button. When the power is restored, after about 10 seconds , the loco runs as it should until it stops again and ticks. I wonder if the ticking and lights flashing is as a result of the "stay alive" trying to do what it is supposed to? If I run the loco with lights on and no sound it runs perfectly. I've read some of the previous posts on current draw etc and although some of it makes sense I'm really reluctant to mess about with the model, It wasn't inexpensive and should not need me to fix it. Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome. I have written to Kernow asking for help.
  9. Has there been any progress on this item? I've just ordered some Cobalt digital point motors and now read that Dynamis Ultima doesn't seem to addres them correctly.
