  1. Hi Junctionmad, what product would you suggest using on the underside to reduce noise? I've been thinking about those square black sheets of sound deadening for putting inside car door skins and on floorpans, but they're quite expensive....
  2. BoD, that's what I get for purchasing second-hand sound fitted locos I guess.... Bought mainly at shows and demonstrated working okay, I'll know what to look out for in future.
  3. Thanks Ken, I was hoping maybe there was a way to avoid sitting in a cold loft in the north of Scotland for hours doing trial and error on every loco to compile a list, but from what you say I'm going to have to. I'm nowhere near confident enough to start trying to swap functions around, so I'm happy to go with what's there, I just need to know what is there, haha.
  4. Hi folks, I'm reasonably new to this DCC malarkey so please go easy on me, and sorry if this isn't the place to ask this particular question..... I'm using Hornby Railmaster with e-link (which so far I'm pretty comfortable with) and I'm slowly fitting DCC Sound to my collection, or replacing older locos with newer sound equipped models. When I add a new loco using the Railmaster software, it will always populate the Function Key list if it's a Hornby TTS decoder but more often than not it won't populate the list if it's a Bachmann loco with an ESU Loksound decoder, irrespective of whether it's V3.5 or V4. I have found that not all my locos have been programmed with the same functions on the same F-keys (i.e. two-tone horn may be F3 on one loco but F5 on another!), is there a "standard" list anywhere of what sound function should be on which F-key, or is there an easier way to find out other than by random selection and writing the results down for each and every loco? Thanks in advance.
  5. Just ordered your Class 17, hoping for great things..... I doubt it'll be my last order, I've a lot more locos to convert, keep up the good work!
  6. I'd like to add my only experience of dealing with DC Kits. I wanted to add sound to a Bachmann Class 37, so I did a lot of research on various forums about what sound was the best, where to mount speaker(s) etc, and finally decided to go for the Legomanbiffo sound. I found out that I can only buy this through DC Kits, so an order for "my xmas present" was placed via the internet. I live in the north of Scotland, so was pleasantly surprised when it arrived 2 days after placing the order. Xmas day arrived, and after prepping the veg for the wife I decided to have a go at fitting the chip and supplied round speaker, which I had read on a forum somewhere would fit under the fan unit in the roof. To cut a long story short, it wouldn't fit, so on boxing day I ordered 2 sugarcube speakers from DC Kits - they arrived today, 28th, much to my utter amazement. I cannot fault DC Kits for their speedy handling of orders at what must be one of the busiest times of the year, their service has been absolutely impeccable. Oh, and for what it's worth, Legomanbiffo's latest 37/0 project sounds awesome with 2 sugarcubes mounted one each end in the nose.
