Thanks for the replies chaps. To answer Golden fleece's question I don't have to force the door shut but just give it a tap but more often than not the mailbag slides underneath the ejection hatch jamming the doors open as well as the locking issue. So I'm beginning to think its a balancing issue i will take your advice and lubricate the mechanism II Grifone. Many thanks PoT

Hello everybody player of trains here, seeing as this thread has turned into a discussion for all things Hornby Dublo i thought this was the best place to ask a question. having been bitten by the three rail bug I've just bought a TPO coach and apparatus the solenoid in the coach works fine and the mechanism is also sound apart from the side doors locking open when powered is this a problem others have encountered before or is this issue confined to my model. If so do any of the dublo veterans here have an idea on how to rectify this issue. Many thanks PoT

Wow, that royal Scot model is really coming together well, I'm also impressed with the R1 chassis conversion it looks better than the original wrenn chassis. so nice to see a large following for these classic models.
