    @russ p

    * EN8167 will randomly stay at red, even though there are no trains between it and the next stop signal (EN8173, which is just visible along with it's repeater in the distance of the second photo) - I think this is to do with the Hargham Road AHB controls and is probably connected with (the absence of) a non-stop train marker against the schedule - but that's an educated guess.

    I think you are correct. Would have to ask the Thetford w/s signaller to clarify it, but we have a similar situation at Westerfield (difference being a cctv crossing). We have a "non stop" function we can click on to get an early call for the barriers to go down so that intermodals don't get checked down on approach to westerfield in the up direction. When the Felixstowe passenger approaches it it doesn't activate the barriers until it stops in the station. Its all controlled automatically via the headcodes but we can override it.

    Take care

     @Siggie in the east The train last night certainly had a ticket, RT3190, and it says in the rule book (Module S5, section 5) that one is required, signallers duties are defined in point 5.4 below (starts on previous page but this is most relevant).

    I didn’t work through the section so can’t comment on the boards being out

    Apologies, it does! My SSM thought it didn't and I wasn't sure. We havent used it over here at Colchester yet (might explain why i can't find a NR3190 anywhere) and TBW hasn't been put in for around 7 years.

    Its like a cross between TBW, single line working and pilot working, with less staff on the ground.

    Thanks

    Not a positioning move but I don't know why it was dragged, the Parkeston moves are (reasonably) frequently dragged for some reason. The loco ran back to Norwich after this move.

    Unit hasn't commenced commissioning runs yet, so until then it will be dragged. Until the 'seal' has been officially removed, it won't be driven kind of situation.

    Cheers

    I think I saw elsewhere that the carriage (unit?) cleaning equipment is being replaced at Crown Point at the moment as well?

    yep, massive job as well. The entire concrete slab is being taken out and a completely new foundation and facility will be fitted in its place.

    Its not been the same since a coach derailed on approach to it and the carriage took out the washer and a few OHL stanchions.

    Thanks

    Without sounding too gruesome,  I'd hate to have to clean one up from the tragic incident

    There are books and crannies all over the front end. A sentiment that is echoed by some fitters I know

    Yes they aren't the easiest front end to clean. We have an ex BTP and a Special Constable working in the box here now and both have said that if and when these incidents happen, they may get classed as 'complicated situations' due to the shape of the nose of the train and most BTP officers don't have the necessary training yet. I foresee clean up times becoming longer than 90mins.

    Thanks

    Tell you what - why dont I stop posting, there you go, problem solved.

    I've removed my recent posts, I won't be posting again, nit pickers who don't add anything and some of the political comment which is permitted these days on the forum means I'm just about ready to leave here.

    NNOooooo you're the biggest contributor to this thread. Youre our unofficial photographer! Hahaha

    You add the pictures and info to the tip offs I provide! (When I'm on shift anyway!) ;)

    Just ignore it, best not to let it get to you.....

    Take care

    I wasn't aware of that ,are the 755's just waiting on approval?  I thought they have been to Liverpool St on test runs and were intended to run Lowestoft to London services

    We have no idea why. They have to terminate at Colchester as they arent permitted to carry passengers passed here unless working a service to sudbury only.

    Yes they have been to London and back on 5Qxx runs but no news as to why yet.

    Thanks

    Why are the Flirts having so many problems? When I've travelled on these trains in The Netherlands they just seem to be so reliable.

    GA didnt get the recommended software package which led to a lot of gremlins, coupled with (no pun intended) a few hardware issues which you'd expect with a new fleet. I was very sceptical of them before they arrived, but they're turning out to be very nice units....when they work ;)

    Thanks

    Looks to have had words with itself and is running as 5P04, Shenfield - Norwich. 1Z99 gone onto the perch I think, lost track of it as I had to sort the Mrs' works laptop out which had thrown a Basil.

    Yep pretty much. On board Fitter bodged it enough to get it to Shenfield, de-trained and non stop back to norwich. I put 1Z99 into Manningtree Refuge siding just before my break. Poor has to triple shunt to get into that siding as theres no interlocking from the up main @CO268 to the siding. madness.

    Thanks

    The last Stadler, 745110,  unit was delivered to Crown Point this morning by 66001.

    <off topic>

    First batch of 3 x 90s left this morning, running 60 late 90010/03/11

    <off topic 2>

    66720 stabled in Norwich yard overnight after working up to Walsham yesterday, normally returns to Ipswich but was terminated short at Norwich for reasons unknown, working up to Walsham this morning to take the tanks back to Harwich.

    Was stabled in Norwich as there was no space in the yard at Ipswich without blocking it in with 86's. When its stabled after a Walsham turn, GB can use it as a rescue loco for their own trains but cant rescue anything if its blocked in by freightliner.

    Thanks
