  1. Hello

    Hello

I finally got around to setting up my digikeijs DR5000, all went very nicely.  I can run trains, switch turnouts, all using the inbuilt throttle, or the Roco WiFi MM just so good to able to walk around the layout without a tethered cord, which I have tripped over many times.

    Connection is as follows.

    1. J to the Left side of the DR5000 as per the manual, and the K to the right side.

    2. The Lenz booster to the DR5039 CDE adaptor and then from the adaptor to LocoNet B on the DR5000

    3. The RS feedback to the RS feedback on the DR5000 which way the wires go I don't know, but I have tried it both ways and makes n o difference

    Now comes the trouble.

I have connected it to TC using first Lenz USB on Com 10 and then LocoNet on Com 11 TC then asked me to change everything from the old setting of Lenz to the new Lenz USB, all good.

I can change turnouts but there is no block detection, none of the sensors show up, one major problem is that when I turn on TC all engines have the sound on, which is very strange, I have cleared them all using each function but it still happens every time I boot it up?

Sorry about the full size of the attachments but i could not crop them for some reason.

    Regards

  2. Hello

I have read through all the comments here, but I am not sure of this.  I have a Lenz LZV100, and a Lenz L101 booster.  This booster is connected and powers the lower part of my Layout which is double isolated from the top part, there is a Digikeijs/Roco CDE adaptor available to be able to use the CDE from the booster, but where do I plug it in, as the RS port is being used by the command Station?   the booster has 10 RS-8 attached to it, and I need of course to be able to use them.

    any comments welcome.

  3. Hello

I was just reading all this and was wondering if there was any update to the Lenz/DR5000/Z21  problems.  I looked into all this 4 years ago and decided to stay with my Lenz setup, but I do need a Roco WiFi MM now that I know they do not lose there info if the batteries run one, something that the first ones did do.  So it seems it is still the old problem, or, does the DR5000 work 100% with the Lenz RS bus now, if so I might go that way.  Any info would be helpful.

  4. Hello

I have a Loco fitted with a Loksound 4 and also a Krois uncoupler.  I use this mostly to uncouple a train in reverse, but, here is what happens.  In reverse I hit F8 and the loco moves forwards quite a bit and uncouples, then it moves in reverse, I would like it to do the opposite how it should do, push back, uncouple, and move forward, below is how I have it working.

In forward motion it does the same thing which is correct, I have tried various combinations of no forward or reverse but cannot seem to fix it

Loksound V4 with one Krois on the reverse of a Roco Krokidile Lok.  I need the Lok to uncouple if driving forward and in reverse, but mostly in reverse.

    Function Mapping.

Forward F8 Driving Ignore.  Direction Forward F8 On
On Logical functions Uncouple cycle and Sounds Coupler Clank.  If Forward is not on the uncoupling does not make any sound

Reverse F8 Driving Ignore   Direction Reverse  F8 On
On Logical functions Uncoupling Cycle and Sound Coupler clank.

  5. Hello

I have a BR03 Englishman engine with a Zimo decoder and it worked very well.  I changed the sound file to a Henning one and the sound is great, however, the engine now almost stalls upon starting, and it struggles going up a very small grade.  Usually with this I just change the motor setting down a bit on the Accel part, say from 40 to 30 or so and that works, but not with this Loco, it must be done some other way.  I have tried the three CV's for the speed setting or the table in decoder pro but again nothing works?, they don't do anything as well, I just wonder how he is doing this it needs to be changed or i will have to go back to the original sound file that worked well for a long time

    Any help appreciated.

  6. Hello

I have a new Zimo Decoder programmer, it works great on changing sounds etc but I cannot update any decoder firmware.  It is connected to a piece of track, and I use the USB to load the updates for all decoders, however, it then says  "decoder not found"

    what am I doing wrong?

  7. Hello

I have a sound in a file on my desktop that I want to put into a Loco using my Z21, I put the Loco on the programming track but that is as far as I get, can anyone explain how to do this? get the file into the loco decoder.

  8. Hello Keith,

Thanks for your quick reply.  My Device manager is the same as yours, just different COM ports.  I have all the sensors for the blocks on Lenz USB but nothing shows up, the sensors do not light up so the blocks do not show occupancy, but the picture of the Loco's is in the blocks.  I tried to change the sensors to Loconet but that does not seem possible.  I don't know why the sensors do not operate?

  9. Hello

I have brought this topic back to the top because I have received from digikeijs a new DR5000 and also a booster DR5033 to replace the faulty ones that I had.

I have been running a Lenz system and have just now connected the digikeijs gear.  After many attempts at downloading the latest update with missing drivers I finally have it running with Lenz USB on COM9 and Loconet on COM7, the DR5000 is on COM8.  I have power on both top and bottom tracks, I can run trains and all points work (LS150) etc.  I have changed TC Gold over to the new system but it does not show up any RS-8 blocks/sensors.  I am using a Roco MM on the Xpress net bus.  The J is on the left of the command Station looking from the back of it, and I have tried to copy the same for the booster, this did show a short at the start from the booster but I just swapped the J and K wires around on it and that went away.

    Any comments welcome.

  10. Hello Guys

today is a better one.  I have just heard back from digikeijs, and what was wrong with my DR5000 and DR5033 as follows.

We examined both the DR5000 and the DR5033.
Inside the DR5000 we found one of the voltage fuses is burned. Therefor there is no voltage on
    the LocoNet and B-Bus connections.
This can only be caused by some external voltage that was placed on the LocoNet or B-Bus connectors.
But this we have to examine inside the DR5000 log history.

So it is not the DR5033 Booster. However we will also ship a new DR5033 to be 100% sure.
I will also be shipping a new cable just to make sure there is nothing wrong with that one.
Please make sure only to use official LocoNet cable.

They have also very quickly posted two new items to me, so it won't be long until I can get it all going again.  This time I am going to set it up on a computer in my office and try the LS150's and RS-8 first, then with TC, once it is all going and importunately I do understand it I will introduce it to my full layout.

Thanks John for the info, I look forward to seeing it all working correctly.

    Regards

  11. Hi Guys

I have just recently found this site and topic.  Some of you already know my problem with digikeijs but here is a quick update.  I received their DR5000 Command Station and booster DR5033 about 6 weeks ago.  The booster just never worked, there was no power on the output, I have contacted them many times about it but received a few emaisl which took at least 8 days to get a reply, ths last one being to just try the new firmware update.  I recently had had enough and sent both items back to them, today I received this back from Rory Keijs.

    Dear Mr. Hedges,

Ok no problem. We will inspect both products when they arrive.
We also want to know what is wrong with them.

I will update you when they arrive.

    Kind regards,

    Roy Keij
    DIGIKEIJS

Interesting!.  I could also never get my RS-8's to work with the DR5000 so I will be following this thread to see how it all goes, some useful information so far.

    Regards

    Anthony
