Will there be another run of these in the future?

Could one mould a shape in silicone/rubber which then could be inserted under the braces? Limited flexibility would allow sieved coal to be glued on with Copydex.
Probably the way forward.
It has to be a method whereby the models details are not damaged if the load needed to be removed.

The burning question I'd like to pose.
Has anyone found a way to add a realistic load to the HAA's without casting in the cross-braces in a solid mass/ non permanent bond ?😆

Discussed in some detail on DEMU forum. Mixing in Scotland strictly controlled, and train lengths restriced because of some important bridges. But there is some in these photos at Millerhill - one of the main staging / shunting yards in Scotland where wagons requiring maintenance etc would be removed and replaced in Rakes.

You don't mention what era you are interested in. As already mentioned top skips/capes were a Scottish thing until the 1990s

I'm trying to stick to mid to late 80's with a little modeller's license thrown in for good measure where needs be.

Sorry if this has already been covered (ive a feeling it has) ,did the HAA's work with HBA's with the extended tops to the body?
-
I think AS have been completely stunned with the demand for these and the speed at which they were gone!
I've certainly not seen anything like it far as model railway items are concerned!!

Not helped by the fact that in typical Bachmann fashion they only did one inner when I believe they ran in sets of five?!
This is where the new manufacturers lead the way in my opinion, by offering multiple running numbers so you can assemble a rake early on rather than being drip fed as Bachmann do.
I’d like a rake or two of four or five sets each but I’ll not buy the Bachmann ones (or much else of theirs now) as it just takes them too long to release things and would rather do without.
An Accurascale model would be welcomed by me also, likely to be better overall and better value, and I’m prepared to wait for that or just continue to do without! They did only seem to scrape the surface of the type, didn't they!
Odd really, as I'm sure that more would be equally popular when they released them. C-Rail must be very happy though.😅

To be fair, the running numbers of freightliner flats would hardly be noticeable when they get covered in grot pretty quickly. Its not necessarily the how many different inner wagons are released at a time, but production quantities that'd matter. Having said that, more variety of containers would be nice and I'm really surprised they haven't been produced again. Either way, I cant see it being something that another manufacturer would pick up when there's already a Bachmann tooling
I fear you are right.
I've been spoilt last few years in having H0 scale intermodal trains in every different flavour out there!!
Dozens of differently liveried containers aplenty by at least 3 manufacturers!! I've recently sold the lot to embark on a new layout and finding hard to source the basics such as the above.
There are ofcourse modern equivalents, but they out of my era.

We went off real pics and copied them from sources such as the Paul Bartlett site. Have no idea why they were painted in different spots, but we decided to replicate on our models as per pics.
HAA Railfreight red pack 1 is now sold out on our website, with several other packs with less than 10 remaining. They have been flying out. Snap up the others before they go, or check out our retail network if you need more!
Cheers!
Fran
Are you guys still packing pre-orders?
Mine is still showing as not packed.
Not being a needy git or anything but dont want to miss out, as you say, I notice that one pack of the 7 I have on pre-order is already sold out.
These seem to be flying off the shelves!!

I wonder if there would be any market for some more early Freight Liner flats, namely the FFA and FGA?
I wasn't interested in them when Bachmann done them, now I am, they seem like hens teeth, which is typical. You can find the 'outer' buffered examples still, but the 'inners' seem non existent.
Doesn't look as though Bachmann are interested in doing anymore.

Just popped by Accurascale Deltic cherry having seen my first example ‘in the flesh’ as it were on the Locomotion stand at the Bristol show.
Got to say photo’s dont really do it justice - the finesse is extraordinary and the shape is absolutely spot on. This model is going to show up how the Bachmann version doesn’t quite get the nose right and I think the two versions will not sit comfortably side by side. A personal choice I know but its the same for me as with the Dapol verses the Heljan Western, one makes the other look like it is a different class when they are seen together. Perversely I think the Heljan DP2 will fit in ok - I know they alterered the nose to get the ride height but I like the way they did the windscreen and Accurascale have done similar. The Bachmann version looks like it is squinting by comparison if you see what I mean.
The Locomotion version has clearly had a hard life (see the bent lamp iron and mis fitting top grab rail) and my photos through glass with a phone obviously are pretty poor but I share them here anyway.
Very excited for when these properly arrive!
I was rather abruptly told on this board some years ago, after I dared to berate Bachmann's effort, that there wasn't anything wrong with the nose shape🤣.
Not by just 'anybody' I hasten to add.😏

Hi Gary,
2 40fts and all for us. You can share of course as part of groupage, but we book out and fill as we want to do everything we can to make sure none of our stock gets damaged or mistreated.
Cheers!
Fran
That's ALOT of cubic meterage!!

Sadly, like many others, you have discovered that trying to contact Locomotion Models is like trying to pick up a jelly. They are the most difficult organisation to contact and I sometimes wonder just how they survive in business. The usual excuse has been that they are so busy they have not had time to reply but this problem has been ongoing since they released the GNR Single model some years ago which was well before the covid outbreak. Someone called Stuart used to be a member on the forum and worked in the shop at Shildon, so it might be worth a look on the Locomotion threads to see if his contact details are there somewhere. They sound like a side-line of the DVLA.

I imagine weight per container must come into it somewhere - and we know these weigh quite a bit each!!I reckon you would run out of cubic metres before you reached its mgw TBH, a 20 foot container has a max gross weight of just over 30 tonnes.
That would be alot of Deltics!!
Weight per pallet would be interesting, dare say somebody would know, as you say, they are heavy models.
Selling my American H0 loco's in the past, I've noticed that an Athearn Genesis SD70 in its large box, similar in size to the ones Accurascale is using for the Deltics, brings it close to 2KG!!
They cost a fair amount to post.

And hopefully both containers of deltics end up in the same place :)
You have 2 containers??
20 footers or 40's or 53's??
Either way, that's alot of Deltics!!!
Sort of off topic but applicable, does a shipper share a container with another shippers goods, or is it simply, 'use all the available space'??
The costs involved, I wouldn't expect them to be half full etc.

Kadees can be made to work on UK 00 if operation trumps appearance....

Yes, indeed. I've been here before, had an EM gauge layout for a few years before going over to H0 14 years ago. I'm now going back to UK outline after the hiatus.
Kadee's on UK stuff are OK, better than tension locks but abit like alcohol free lager, "it'll do, but its just not right".😁

Don't get me started on that can of worms!!!😆
I am still coming to terms with selling all my lovely H0 American stuff with knuckle couplers and Kadee's and once again becoming reacquainted with our woeful tension lock!🥴

Thank you for the reply and I appreciate the sentiment but I fear they may have sold out by the time the funds are available for a good length rake.
Saying all of that though, Ill order a 3 pack from you and see how it goes.😀
