Hi All,
I was at Warley yesterday at the NEC.
Took the opportunity to visit the Dapol stand to get an update on their class 59’s.
The chap I spoke to advised that these are due into the Country next week & then will be checked & sent out to their retailers shortly after this.
personally, I am looking forward to these & with the announcement of the P & D JHA hoppers an impressive rake could be created.

Hi All,
I picked up this ex-LMS 20T brake up recently.
Hornby reference No. R60088 relates.It is in a striking blue livery & marked ‘S & T Chester’.
The finish on the wagon is superb. It also has metal buffers.
Has anyone any further detail on this
Prototype images would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.

Hi adb968008,
Thank you for your very generous offer.
If you have a spare Hornby class 50 buffer and shank It would great to receive this.
I am quite prepared to pay for this & any postage.
Attached below is an image showing what I am after.
If you can help, please let me know as I have reached out to both Hornby & various retailers (Peter’s Spares etc) & unfortunately they have been unable to help.

Hi All,
I reckon it could be the start of many ‘Flying Scotsman’ as the centenary approaches next year.
Will see what happens but if this doesn’t appear now be prepared for numerous versions soon especially as they have their new tooling.

Hi All,
A real wild card request.
I have managed to get hold of a second hand Hornby’s class 50.033 in NSE livery named ‘Glorious’.
Although I have ‘chipped’ this up & it runs very well, I have noticed one of the buffers is missing….
I have been on the Hornby website & believe their part No. for the class 50 buffer pack is X9237, however they have no stock & neither does Peters Spares.
I have trawled the web & visited the bigger box shifters, but alas no luck.
Anyone seen these in their local model shop?
Or perhaps, does anyone have one spare from X9237?
If so, please let me know. I am happy to purchase this from you if you can assist. Thanks in advance.

Hi All,
Here’s a question which I know is going to be subjective, but…….
What is the best Hornby Flying Scotsman.
My particular brief is as follows:
1, In BR Brunswick Green.
2, Era 8 or 9.
3, With German smoke deflectors.
4, Loco drive.
5, ‘Full fat’ version (not Railroad).
Looking forward to your feedback.

Hi Justin,
Thought it was unusual.
Thanks for the clarification & as you say ‘normal service has been resumed’.

Hi All,
I went to log on the SMS Railway Modellers Club website this evening & was presented by a page asking me to upgrade to First class membership.
I enjoy the content, contribute & order regularly but wasn’t planning on joining.
Not sure if I have missed something, but I have logged out & logged back in again to be presented by the same page….
Any feedback Justin?

Hi All,
I have a couple if these Dapol class 121/122 & have been impressed with their running qualities
These are the Balfour Beatty version & the Hatton’s Ltd edition in original NSE livery.
Because of the positive experience I have had with these 2, I thought I would add a third to my fleet.
I purchased on 2 separate occasions (from 2 different supplies) within a fortnight this month. Both had to be returned due to lack of power on one of the bogies. It appears the drive axle had come loose & was just ‘floating’ where it should be ‘engaged’.
Disappointing & I am now a little cautious to try for a third time.

Hi All,
Looking at the next batch of Deltics, a particular favourite of mine has always been D9000 ‘Royal Scots Grey’ in the two tone green livery. With Accurascale’s attention to detail & supplied with ‘sound’ it would definitely be on my shopping list.
Go on Fran, you know it makes sense. 🤞

Hi All,
Just a suggestion regarding the chains…..
What about a small magnet on the body side (suitably disguised) or even hidden behind the body for the chain to attach too.
Similar to magnets used on the roof for removal & installation of the DCC clip.

Hi All,
This model was available as both ‘weathered’ & ‘unweathered’ from Erith MRS as a limited edition of 504 models each as part of their 50th anniversary.
The Shepherd Neame brewery was/is based in Faversham & ‘product’ would be supplied all over Kent & London via the London Dover & Chatham railway.
The wagon was used in the 19th century.

Hi All,
I have just got myself the class 90 in the RES livery complete with sound & I am mightily impressed.
Smooth running with a full suit of effects including (of course) the operating pantograph.
With this particular effect in mind, can anyone advise how I can reduce the height of the pantograph. I believe this can be done but couldn’t see anything in the instructions.
Thanks in advance.

Hi All,
With the imminent arrival of the Deltic & the class 37’s making the artwork stage, this got me thinking, what’s next on the loco front for Accurascale.
Contemporary locomotives such as the class 69 have already been announced by another manufacturer.
So what about another loco originally introduced back in the 1960’s that could be produced to modern standards…..
With the Class 55 & Class 37 there similar components used so could these be used on any other loco?
Enter the Class 50.Although already produced elsewhere (& TBF to a decent standard) I can see this being next on Accurascale’s ‘hit list’.
Time will tell.

Hi All,
These look quite realistic too compared to other types we have seen over the years.
It will also be interesting to see how effective these are.
Is it my imagination, but does the wagon above the sole bar look ‘stretched’? Perhaps to contain some of the cleaning ‘apparatus’ & allow access……
Be interesting to see these ‘in the flesh’.
That said I could still be tempted by the Mainline version in ‘aircraft blue’ (74902).

Hi All,
Just wondering…..
Did anyone visit the Hatton’s stand at Warley over the weekend & get any feedback on whether this general purpose crane will go ahead.
Curious to now as this would make a cracking model.
