It’s just under four weeks to our Open Day at Portland College.
Garry Whiting is unfortunately unable to attend with a display of his locomotives this year. Instead, Peter Hardy will be bringing along his Norton Heath 009 layout.
Stephen Penn will be attending with Sandy Wood and Paul Bardill has swopped his Ty’n y Cornel layout for his Rheneas layout – these are 009.
For those of you who have read the July 2023 Railway Modeller – James Wright will be exhibiting his Gwynog-ar-y-Bryn layout.
All of the layouts will be in the Newstart Hall which now has excellent lighting following the refurbishment that took place in early 2022.

When I had an issue recently the eBay agent said I would be called back - I received the call back at 3.30am in the morning. Their call centre hadn't a clue about the local time in the UK! (Still waiting to hear back about the complaint I raised).
I had a 50% off fees offer last weekend - the small print says: ..."Applies to final value fees on up to 100 listings. Item must sell within the first listing period. No insertion fees apply. Private sellers activated on managed payments only. Offer excludes the 30p order fee for private sellers activated to managed payments."...
I assume that the offer only applies for the first month now that fixed price listings are "Good 'Til Cancelled".
But it's still worth cancelling any existing listings you have (if the fees are higher) and re-listing them using the offer.

There is a lot of information on the NGRM site under "Comparison Between Kato 11-103 & 11-109"

I know the 20% off eBay coupon has been mentioned before, but just in case it ends shortly South Devon Railway have over the last few weeks added a number of new items:
having a quick look back on earlier posts this seems to be about the lowest price it has been (£57.59 + post).
Certainly I was very pleased with my 009 purchase a couple of weeks ago:
the GVT Baldwin - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-391-029-Baldwin-Class-10-12-D-4-6-0T-Glyn-Valley-Tramway-Lined/383630064928
at £107.99 + post. Still four versions available!
Have a search through their other items - most of them have the 20% coupon offer.

I also ordered a Hornby Rocket yesterday (Friday) just before 1pm, it arrived a short while ago at 4.10pm (Saturday) with the postman. I have ordered items now twice this month on a Friday from Bure Valley Models and received the items the next day. Always nicely packed and a good price. Five Star Service.
Fantastic service compared with the other item in the post, which was ordered from another well known model shop nine days ago at a shipping cost of £3.95 - it was sent in a large letter envelope for around a pound.

Over the last few years the Post Office around here (North Derbyshire) has expanded it's opening hours by having more small newsagents/shops take on the role. I notice that there is a Post Office at Farnworth (100 Derby Road, Widnes, Cheshire WA8 9LQ) which offers opening hours of 7am to 8pm, seven days a week. Their hours may be reduced at present (our village Post Office is usually 7am to 9pm - but now shuts at 6pm), but the chances are that they are open much longer than the town centre one. I don't know your area - but it may be worth checking them out.

Hi,
The collection looks to be in good condition and the loco appears to be clean.
These are whitemetal kits:
Gem make a Varikit for the Minitrix chassis:
Mosskito make this (but out of stock):
I'm not sure what 3D printed kits/bodies there are.
The 009 Society second hand sales often has these kits (well worth joining the society and adding your name to the sales list emails). Or try to get to a show that they are attending - Narrow gauge North next weekend.

"In order to receive your BRM discount, you need to enter your subscriber number prefixed with D20 in the promotion code box on the next page."
I'm just asked to pay - no sign of a promotion box.

Have a look on Shapeways, for example:
You could create a static models in the short term. Remember that the Portram trams have two motor units.
