  1. I too have one and found it does what it says on the tin. My only gripe is that slow speed control is a bit iffy but that could be down to dirty track!!! I think the on board CDU is a bit of a waste of time but it might suit some.

I am very interested in this new controller from Gaugemaster (Infinity?) - there are versions for DCC and DC but I am wobbling having seen the price! I particularly like the wireless feature.

  2. Thanks for the video  update Andy. I do hope your wife gets better soon. Shame about Tonleigh yard but as you say family comes first. Having said that I am sure the layout that follows will be as interesting as all the others you've built over the years and I look forward to the updates and videos over time.

Just a thought and it's not confined to any scale but you could always do what I did and build a layout that can only be erected in the garden or other suitable flat area.

It has plenty of downsides like only be operated on a fine day although if it wasn't too big you can always get some gazebos to cover it whilst operating. When not in use you could store in the pod and still have room for a workbench. I put mine on trestles I got from Amazon.  You've seen the videos. Its not ideal but its better than nothing.

We are looking to move and one of the tick boxes has to be somewhere I can easily operate the layout perhaps by having it half up in the garage and then erecting the rest when I want to run it.

Trouble is we can't sell our house due to the dire market conditions.

  4. Good to learn progress has been made Andy.

I've been building an Ellis Clark Wickham shed although I haven't posted much on here lately as I am also on the 7mm Scale Society forum where I post more stuff.

Once I get nearly done I'll put some pictures up

  5. Down here in East Sussex the March edition of BRM landed on the shelves yesterday. It was again one of those bundles with a DVD and copy of Traction magazine at the inflated price of £9.99. Leaving aside the merits of this bundling, what was on the shelf was not a bundle since the copy of Traction Magazine was not present and the magazine not covered in a sleeve or plastic wrapt to keep the two magazines and DVD together. Both newsagents in town had the same problem so it seems this is an error at the printing or distribution stage since the cover quite plainly shows a DVD and Traction magazine included.

I wonder of this is a widespread issue since as it stands the price for just the magazine or in some cases the magazine and DVD is £9.99 for something that is normally £5.49 - I feel something has gone wrong here and many people will be paying for something they did not get. An investigation needs to happen and the question of what to do about people who have paid over the odds needs to be addressed.

I have also sent an e-mail to the publishers and editor but have  heard nothing back

  7. Another work trick I devised was to put fake appointments in the diary. We had a system where others could simply book in and I would find myself in interviews from morning to night and never got any work done. The odd fake interview which mysteriously got cancelled last minute was a life saver.

Being retired now though seems to give me even less time!

I'm kicking myself that Hattons had them at £550 pre Xmas, but I didn't realise it was only for a day or two.

I saw that but I don't think a purchase would be approved. I would also like one with the grey stripe.

I wonder if Heljan will modify the body and do a 73/0.

And how long before a 33/1!

The cats or the fur LOL

I do have a similar issue then it is only a small dog but hates being brushed.

The fur ha ha. Ours get groomed every day in return for a lick-e-lix treat. The desire for the treat makes them forget they hate being groomed!

The interference on the drivers side window seems to be cat fur. It gets everywhere in this house  on account of the fact we have 5 of them! I have since removed it

  11. I joined Western Thunder but the only two posts I made were removed by the moderators for trivial reasons  so I gave up on them and I have moved mostly to the 7mm Scale Society. They are much more welcoming.
