  1. CME, glad you and others liked it, it nicely captures the essence of Port Bredy.

This is the original image reduced to 1024 x 768 and sharpened. Nothing else.

You can see the great improvement with Holly's photoshoppng the back scene and taking out the reflection in the water from the overhead lights. Customarily you get what I take but I can see here how I need to learn something about that process. She will be back home for Christmas and I'll ask her for some tuition.

  2. Richard, I like the idea of your gas works. I did consider adding one to Hintock Redux but as it would have had to be along the front-and difficult to reach over-I didn't pursue it.

Maybe another opportunity will present itself.

Meantime I look forward to seeing your progress.

  3. Andy, your post of December 7 says, if I read it right, that many  owners don't have plans, they make it up as they go along.( It's certainly what I do albeit with a back of an envelope sketch.) But they do have a finished result.

Surely that can be transcribed into a sketch plan at least.

What's the problem then in a draughtsman using that as a guide along with any photos, to produce a finished plan

  4. Andy, no laughing matter. Safety First.

    Two suggestions:-

    1. Do you need Much Dithering now you have Pen y Bont?

    2. Instead of the storage above the layout could the stock be stored below the railway in slide out drawers?

    Take care.

  5. Andy, one reason I got on with the Goods Shed at HRx was because I was "stuck" with the station building. I also as a distraction built a new house for the Stationmaster.

However, I had another look this morning and seem to be getting there. I'll take some photos later and then see how it looks.

  6. Andy, you are not alone. I've been fiddling about with the placement of the station buildings at Hintock Redux for several weeks now.

And, as Kevin remarks it helps to get on with other things and come back afresh.

But, finally I think i'm there. Photos in due course.

  7. John...snow soon? Plenty up in the mountains already and been there for several weeks. Fortunately not down here...yet. I can wait.

I've no doubt all that background information will assist you in getting it right, and if it looks right then it will be so. Too much information tends to confuse and the essentials harder to identify.

And, once you've worked out in your mind the back story I look forward to seeing this develop in your own inimitable fashion.

    My regards,
