~What the fireman saw~
Oh dear, he's at it again ! It appears Ernest fancies the stationmasters daughter.
Who knows what goes on in our little worlds, when we aren't around 😉

The loco kit has been all consuming this week and was just the right thing for all those rainy days.
You know we keep talking about moving to the coast. It's starting to feel urgent as the only neighbors we're friendly with are packing up and selling. There's also been some logging recently and the logging company have put up no trespassing notices all over the mountain so I can't even take the dogs up there for a decent hike any longer.
I'm sorry to hear that. The no trespassing notices everywhere would annoy me very much. Looking forward to seeing the finished model. So satisfying building one I'm sure, I just need to utilize my time better to get going !

Looking good Shaun, gets me thinking about starting one of my loco kits. However, the weather will be
too nice this weekend, have to head to the beach for some R&R.

I might have missed it but is your station building a kit or scratchbuilt?
Thanks for the kind compliment. The station building is a kit available from Skytrex models. It was formally made by NMB models in Somerset. I can recommend it, nice castings & great fun to build.
Thanks,
Felix

Your scenic work is going very well.
Thank You. Outside of a small 3x6' TT layout built when I was a teenager, this is the first layout
I've gotten to the scenic / detailing phase, so it's all a learning curve for what works, or not. All great fun.
I'm enjoying the "Beyond Dover" thread. Been tempted a few times to build a small French O layout, but
time (& budget , ability) are limited right now. Had a crazy idea of making my buildings removable on the BBR
and replaced with continental versions, along with stock, & presto, it's a French secondary line in 1910 ! Maybe someday.

A brief video showing GWR Pannier 7711 with the morning goods. Work has left little time for
the railway, hoping to get a few things done this month.

A sleepy countryside station deep in Somerset. The small independent railway quietly goes about its
desperate struggle to survive. Another train, a couple more passengers. Phew, we've made it another day.- 23

Work has left little time for the railway, but today was a good day and I decided to be lazy. So I just put the hi-fi record player on & played trains No news, No phones, No Computers, just music, tea, & steam Here's BBR #8 "Hilda" rolling through the countryside in simpler times with the "aff'noon" goods.

Love the overall roof photos Shaun, that'll keep you busy for some time I suspect.
I've always been tempted to build a station with a large roof, Bath Green Park on the S&D
was one I attempted a couple times but never got far, too ambitious a project for O scale I'm afraid.
The snow all gone ? Happy Model building, the warehouse is looking great !

New year, new project. My attention has been mostly on Windrush Junction, and the surrounding area. For 2022, my main area of activity will be developing the other side of the railway, Boxer Bay, and it's dock. I am most looking forward to it, being interested in maritime activity as well as railways. Here are a few photos showing how things stand now, with bare track & a start on the dock wall. Incidentally the isolated & elevated track will be for the moving dock crane, based on the S&D crane at Highbridge. Felix

in place on the layout, it'll be an imposing presence. Happy New Year, Felix
