  1. Thanks for your input. I'm sure you read that this will be set in the late 1980's so will probably be mostly loco hauled stock. I do have plans for rolling stock. As this is my first layout (and I am only 14) it will hopefully give me some knowledge for future developments of it. I am glad to hear that you are looking forward to seeing it develop! Thanks, Tom.
  2. Hi all, Please feel free to check out and follow the new topic for Redminster. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/129078-redminster-oo-gauge-late-1980s-sectoristation-terminus/ Redmister is the name for my new layout. Read all about in the topic above. Thanks, Tom.
  3. Thanks, I will be having a selection of locos on this layout such as Class 37's, Class 47's, Class 20's and also some DMU's. I will probably also have a class 08. Thanks for your input, Tom.
  4. Hi all, I though that as I am about to start building this layout, I should make a thread about it. Redminster is a fictional layout set in the south west featuing a terminus station, freight depot and TMD. At this moment in time, this layout is only plans but these plans are pretty much set in stone. They are as follows, OO gauge using Peco 100 track. The baseboard will be made from plywood which I will make myself. It will be end to end. Length = 7ft Width = 4ft Moveable/Transportable = Yes Will be set in the sectorisation era of BR with the year being around 1989. It will have a terminus station which will feature 'mainline' trains and a small bay platform for a heritage railway. Also will have some station sidings, freight depot/terminus and a TMD. Will be DCC and will be controlled using a NCE 524-042 NCE Power Cab. Locomotives will mainly be diesel with 1 steam engine (probably a 14xx) for the heritage line. So I guess you now get the idea of what I am aiming for with this. Once building is complete and once scenery is too a good enough standard, I hope to take it to a few exhibitions/shows. Feel free to suggest anything that I could add/implement in this layout. Thanks, Tom.
  5. Please read the edited version above as this explains more as I rushed the previous version.
  6. Hi all, I am thinking about starting a layout which I could possibly take to model shows in the future. Any ideas/comments are welcome. Some basic ideas are: Baseboards will be made from plywood. Will be and end to end layout. Length = 7ft Width = 4ft Era = 1982-1994 (preferably 1989) Any more suggestions are very welcome. Thanks very much, Tom.
  7. Alex, I love the layout. I think it great! There are so many possibilities that you can do with it e.g. shunting, rolling stock, puzzels etc. Here are some photos of my 66 on the layout on Saturday.
