Looks like the first and 7th the seller forgot to include the x10
Still expensive and who would want a 10 pack of LH curved points.

Remember that UK footpaths usually have lots of utilities under them. When doing one of the frequent digging exercises to repair same its much easier to lift a few slabs than break up some solid concrete. The tarmac version is also fairly easy to cut through and patch up.

The DCC chip has probably been set to ignore DC. You need to find someone with DCC (or the shop) to check CV29 and reset it to run on DC.
Or take out the chip and fit a blanking plug in the 21 pin socket.

His postage charge is more than the wagon is worth, to me. Looks like he bought them as an investment to fund his pension. I imagine he will be disappointed.
Is there some special significance in having a 00 wagon in a P4 box

I think they were class b tanks,
The tanks are class B as built by Airfix, IIRC its the class A tank that has the longer barrel with the class A fuel being of lower density.
I do remember reading an article so James is probably right.

They're all visible to me
Are you sure? If so what is your secret?
I recommended this topic to someone who came back to me to express his dissappointment that most of the images were not visible. Rather surprised I looked for myself and found the same problem although I had seen the images before. Hence the question.
Since your answer I have now checked with 5 browsers over 3 computers, covering Linux, Win XP and Win 7, all have the same problem.
This occurs on the first page of this topic where post #4 has 15 images listed but I see only two of them, same 2 in every case. also in post #17 where there are 8 pics listed and I see none of them.
So the question stands, any ideas what the problem is?

I believe Airfix first produced this kit when the wagons were brand new, as shown here Photo which shows the ladder in the Airfix position, the heating pipe valve can be at either end on the model depending on how you build it.

My dad and I had a bit of a running session tonight, using the Q6 on the pick-up goods to drop a few wagons off in the yard and have a play around. I took some photos too which I hope you enjoy. All photos are 'clickable' for much larger versions.

Any idea why most of the photos in this post and the one following are not showing?

Keith forgot to mention that to access the Sema4 code, you need to be a member and to use it, have, or know someone who has, the means to program the PIC firmware.
But to buy the Servo4 kits in the first place you have to be a member or be a friend of one, so if you are in this position you will also have access to the Sema4 firmware and reprogramming service if needed.

This easy to build kit will control up to four servos independently. The motion is much simpler. Danger to Clear at one speed, Clear to Danger at same or another speed.
The end positions and the speeds for each servo are set independently.
MERG now has firmware available for the serv4 designed for signals. This provides for up to 3 individually adjustable bounce positions at each end of the travel. Each of the 4 servos can be adjusted separately. The original version was designed for points where bounce is not usually wanted.

I would like to use a double slip point instead of three normal points
Note, as others have hinted a double slip will not replace 3 nornal points, only 2.

Any plans to build a layout for it to run on?
Thanks for the comment, no plans for a layout, I just have one turnout on a 4 ft test plank, I see no way to get the Zambian atmosphere, its all about wide open spaces and long trains.

Were there any rules for rivers where the railway crossed? Were telegraph wires strung above them or were they passed through conduits on the bridges?
As usual it all depends, conduits would be unusual, it involves coming from the open wire into insulated wires and that was bad for the transmission design, especially for the higher frequency carrier circuits. Small rivers would just have a pole on each bank, bigger ones might have the poles on the bridge piers, or just have the insulators bracketed from the bridge girders or masonry.

The Britt's had two different shape domes, one was as per the drawing and the other taller, closer to the Dapol loco shown. The flatter dome was on the later locos,
Actually you got that the wrong way round, the drawing with the very low dome is of the first batch as delivered, due to problems with the regulator the larger dome was soon fitted and later batches had it from new.

To go off topic slightly, does anyone know the reason why, having used Pullman gangways and buckeyes on mainline stock, BR used British Standard gangways and [presumably] screw couplings on most DMUs?
They were cheaper (very important), lighter (quite important given the limited power) and in most cases the gangways were not coupled and uncoupled in service.

IIRC the usual rule was that no piece of rail in plain line should be less than 15ft. So in your example only 3 full 60ft rails would be used, with 2 short rails, maybe 35ft each or 45+25 etc. It would depend on what was left over from other jobs.

And that is surely what quite a few people want - an original-spec Impetus kit.
But when you follow the link to Karlgarin models as quoted above, click on Impetus, you are presesnted with this text in bold type,
PLEASE NOTE: Due to unfortunate circumstances, ALL KITS LISTED ON THIS PAGE ARE CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE. WE CANNOT GIVE ANY PRICE OR DELIVERY DETAILS AT PRESENT. Please accept our apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause. For the latest information, please see our R&D page.
It does not exactly encourage enquiries, if Rich actually wants to sell the kits he could start by saying so on HIS website.
I don't see how you can call the Karlgarin website, "uninformed comment".
NB. looking for the latest information on the R&D page leads to this:
Please do not believe everything you might read on certain internet modelling forums. The truth is NOT out there - it's here....So how can we believe you?

70ft Nissen hut would make a nice railway room but does look rather decrepit in the photo.
