  1. I don't understand the listing

Its in Boxed Condition, but the powered wheels are loose on the axle?

Was Triang's quality control then as bad as Boeing's is today?

Cats do that! Some of ours (especially Toby!) are given to disappearing for a while and then returning as if nothing has happened!

The explanation is given by Terry Pratchet in his The Unadulterated Cat.  They are really Schrodinger's cats who can time travel, so they can skip forward a couple of days and get the massive Welcome Home feed and cuddles!

  3. A thought about the layout of the sidings.  I remember some having the sidings at the edge of the yard, with much more space between the tracks so that the mobile crane and lorries could service either siding without having to move too far.  Example here of Hythe (Hants) in 1967:

The left hand track is  only a few yards from the yard boundary fence and the right hand one near the base of the railway embankment on which the passenger station stood.

13 years ago today, Kitt arrived at my home.

He was, quite literally, a handful back then.

    This was him yesterday.

He is an impressive cat.  I assume the snow seen through the windows of him as a kitten is the same snow fall that Tilly was finding out what fun it is to play in the snow:

She was still a kitten at the time (8 months) but a good deal bigger than a handful!
