  1. Good evening all! Just wondering if anyone could tell me if it's possible to get from Bachmann, copies of the original paperwork that was supplied with this locomotive when it was first released. I appreciate that service sheets are available on line, but I can't see that there is anywhere that I can access the original documents showing details of the Decoder etc. I've acquired a lovely example in a near perfect box but alas the original paperwork has been lost and it would be nice to replace it. 2. Many thanks everyone for your replies and comments. 65179 - thanks for spending the time to look it all up and actually itemising the appropriate locos. I'm now spoilt for choice - decisions, decisions. Think I'm definitely going to have to keep an eye open for this book "Book of the Jubilees". Is it possible to have too many Jubilees on your layout......lol Regards Clive
  3. Could I just pick someone's brain on something that really should be simple but is confusing me somewhat? I would like to rename my Bachmann Jubilee Kolhapur, but am struggling with trying to find a photo of a similar loco on the internet. I know that Kolhapur was manufactured by BNL in a batch numbered from 45557 - 45606, so can I choose any of these other than Bahamas which seems to have had a double chimney fitted at sometime. Many of the photos I have found of these locos have the later emblem (the Kolhapur has an early BR emblem) - did all the Jubilees in this number range carry the early emblem at some stage? Someone has also mentioned short/long fireboxes, but I think that the longer fireboxes only applied from 45664 onwards so that should not concern me? I have a choice of 48 alternative names/numbers and I just want to know which ones on a "like for like" basis would be correct to rename the Kolhapur. Sounds simple but seems to be causing me a problem, so any help would be appreciated. Clive
  4. Mike - please don't take this the wrong way, but I was glad to hear that someone else has suffered from the same problem, as I was beginning to think it was me? I've raised it with Gaugemaster and they had not come across it before. So, following your advice I've reset the decoders but the problem was still occurring. So I reset them again but this time I then went into CV29 and manually reset them to switch the DC option on. That was over a week ago and so far so good. so will keep my fingers crossed. Many thanks for your help. Regards Clive
  5. Afternoon! Just wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I'm having with three of my locos that have Gaugemaster DCC27 decoders fitted into them. Having read that it was beneficial to switch off the DC option in CV29, I spent a wet Sunday afternoon changing the CV29 values to switch off the DC option on all my locos. At the same time changing the acceleration and deceleration and ensuring that the speed mode was set to 28. Hence all my locos had the same decoder instructions and immediately afterwards all the locos were working fine. Skip on a week or so and following a short it became apparent that 3 of my locos were suddenly not moving. Eventually after a quick reset and the CVs changed again, they all worked again only to have another short ( I tend to forget to change the points back?) and lo and behold the same 3 locos had failed again. Quickly deduced that the 3 locos involved all had previously had Gaugemaster DCC27 decoders fitted into them by me, but had been running previously with no problems. They have now failed again, not following a short this time, but merely by having had the power turned off for a while and I think the "short" was not the cause but merely brought the problem to my attention. The locos not having been used for a while.. Yesterday, having reset them for a fourth time they seemed to be behaving themselves, but within 30 minutes they were not working again. On the programming track, I can read all the CVs and all the functions work on the main track - just no power? Can anyone suggest anything the I've done wrong? My other 8 locos have factory fitted decoders in them and have not been affected, it's just the Gaugemaster DCC27 decoders? I'm operating a ZTC511 system with power booster. All help and advice would be appreciated. Clive
