  1. 30.1.23 Working on the middle board still. More progress with the footbridge and water tower. Dave has now finished painting and detailing the disused water tower and is now fitted in position with more greenery added around the base. The footbridge sides and arch details are being added, and stairway to the signal box footpath fitted in position. I’m currently adding a canopy to the Warehouse building, and a valance will be added next. This area is starting to come together now and looking the part with some stock placed on. Next week we are planning to set up all the boards and have a running session. Cheers Shaun M.R.P.G
  2. Progress with Middleton Central has been a little slow lately, so not many updates lately. We have been backtracking a little with this Warehouse building that hides the control panel. We have decided to make alterations to the panel, allowing it to hinge forward towards the scenic side. This will allow us to operate the layout from the front and rear. The Warehouse will have a removable upper floors section for panel access. This will only be used for club operating and not exhibiting: The upper floors section slotted into position.
  3. 19.12.22 . It’s been a while since we set Middleton Central up and had a run session. After a good track clean all was ok. More progress with the parcels building with roof added. Choppers whistling away
  4. Construction of the parcels building using Slater’s plasticard.
  5. 27.9.22 More construction work on the footbridge. Dave has added wooden planking to the walkway, and covering the wooden supports with embossed brick plasticard. A stairway added for access to the signal box pathway, and steps added for the different levels.
  6. 19.9.22 View from front of the layout showing the steel strip screwed into the split hinge. And towards the backscene, where the footbridge will lead to the low relief building, which is still under construction. The scenery is really coming along now with the greenery nearly finished.
  7. 19.9.22 More progress on the layout with construction of a footbridge to hide the fiddle yard entrances. With this footbridge being on the edge of the baseboard, it has to be a sturdy construction, so we have used some steel strip, screwed to the front of the baseboard and bent to shape, then screwed to wooden blocks for bridge piers. Because of the different levels of track work, we decided to make the bridge multi level which will make it a more interesting structure.
  8. 19.9.22 An earlier club meeting so we could get the layout storage frame painted. There’s still some more work to be done. Needs a board on top for storage boxes. And will soon have a plastic sheet cover fastened to it.
  9. 12.9.22 Cardboard mock up for a low relief modern warehouse building. Paul has started to build the modern warehouse on the right. Thanks for looking Shaun . M.R.P.G
  16. Now the scenery is starting to progress we decided the layout needed a safe storage space. So here’s what we have made. Thanks to Dave for supplying the “Free” timber. (Several cups of tea and biscuits was consumed while constructing the storage frame.) Its not finished yet, it’s going to have a top shelf and cover.
