  1. AUGUST 2016 After track-laying was completed, wiring and test running commenced. All ran perfectly, including the Kadee #309 electromagnetic uncouplers which had been fitted under the track. During testing i built the control panel with yellow toggle switches for points and red push buttons for the uncouplers Next was the construction of the hard-standing. I decided to try Andy York's method of using cork tiles up to the sleeper ends and use fab foam (a Hobbycraft product now called Foam Sheets 22.5 x 30cm) to fill in the remainder I sprayed suede effect paint over the hard-standing and once this had dried, I then alternated spraying grey primer and white primer until I was satisfied with the colour and effect Psiborg
  2. THE INSPIRATION BESCOT Portakabins, shed, crane, inspection platform, containers and wheelsets DONCASTER Portakabins, shed, signage, wheelsets (including delivery by HGV) and skip Psiborg
  3. INSPIRATION This picture shows the block paved platform (including the Robin Hood Line logo) and the old goods shed which had been converted into a waiting shelter I used 15mm MDF for the platforms and glued Peco 'concrete' platform edging onto it giving a solid surface to work on the block paving. This was carved into plastic sheet using a scalpel and was soooooo tedious The view down the completed platforms... After the platform tops were finished I worked out the position for the footbridge and the (ex-goods shed) shelter Cheers for reading Psiborg
  4. LONDON ROAD GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN! After appearing at three exhibitions, in the May 2015 BRM magazine (and as the Layout of the Month on the April 2015 cover DVD), London Road has now been sold. After finally getting broadband installed, I thought I would take the opportunity to share some of the layout construction with RMWeb Final track plan, drawn October 2012 After building the boards, track was laid... Footbridge end (note 15mm MDF in place for platforms) London Road bridge end To work out the width needed for the road bridge, I made a simple mock-up with lanes drawn out on a piece of paper Brick platform edging from the Wills range was glued to the MDF then Metcalfe slabs were used for the platform tops and supports glued in place to support the road More later Psiborg
  5. JUBILEE ROAD WAGON WORKS MAY 2016 - PLANNING Planning started on a wagon works layout the same size as the previous "Annesley Woodhouse" layout. It would, again, use two boards 4ft 11in x 1ft 3.5in giving a total length of 9ft 10in. First version of the plan Spun the plan around to view from the other side bringing the yard to the front After thinking about the backscene, I decided to use one of the ID photographic backscenes (the Distribution Depot one). This would mean that the road bridge wouldn't look right so it was replaced by a footbridge. Thanks for looking Psiborg
  6. ANNESLEY WOODHOUSE JULY 2014 - PLANNING BEGAN After moving house, losing a garage but gaining a spare room, I wanted to build something smaller to exhibit. Inspiration came after seeing Pete Harveys "Peter's Street" at a show and a plan was drawn up... I had some boards already built that i had stripped the track off. They were 4ft 11in x 1ft 3.5in each (9ft 10in total) and fit the spare room perfectly, so track laying began (after covering the old holes with tape) The fiddleyard area and the Station area While this looked OK, it was too similar to the original "Peter's Street" track plan so i decided to change the viewing side, resulting in this plan with features inspired by Mansfield Woodhouse station... More updates soon Psiborg
