Thanks again! But there are many videos, which one does it feature in?
Hi
Look up the ones by Mus 256f and zander.
Maybe better sending me a pm from now on, as it is taking up a lot of space on the topic.

Hi Again.
If you type in Swinlees on theYou tube search facility you should get all the footage you need.

HiGreat to hear steam locos will act correct on DC! So Diesels will not work on DC?
We as a club (Ayr mrg) did some you-tube footage of our dc powered layout "Swinlees" about four years ago. If you care to look it up you will hear/see what is available. It was a means to an end at the time and very limited, as most members on here will correctly tell you. Someof our members couldn't/wouldn't entertain Dcc at the time. This has changed over time and we have built new Dcc layouts and hardly anybody uses the dc powered Swinlees now, hence the lack of updates. In fact it's up for sale now to allow us the space for a new Dcc layout.
Hope that helps.

Hi Mick ,
Looking nice apart from the prototype and the colour scheme !
And here I thought I was the only person from AYR MRG who was up at this time of the morning ! I am at charnock at 2:47 and Stevie seems to have posted at 03:32 in Ayrshire ! Strange - I didn't remember leaving a different time zone ....
Mike b
Hi Mike
Not a different time zone (yet) You've just put on the wrong specks, it reads 02.32.

It wouldn't be the first time the FMRC has had a creche set up to allow the parents to man stands Mark! Good luck and get some sleep in now! Kev.
Sleep! No chance.
He's helping out at the Ayr exhibition, next weekend.
We'll be gentle with him. Promise

I'm sure we can arrange disount for large groups.
But going by the lack of posters so far. I think we're safe

Hi Nelson
Thanks for the pictures.
Well done to you and your Dad. You've made a smashing job of the layout, and all done in only five weeks. Excellent.
Thanks Again

HelloDone a quick internet image search but not stumbled over anything good, so quick couple of questions about the Flask train comments above. Are any alterations needed to be made to HEA/HAA barrier vehicles to be used as barrier vehicles? And what type of brake van is in use at the back there? Looks like a nice easy short freight to make, liking the double heading 31s!
Cheers.
The barrier wagons in the photograph can be modelled by removing the main hopper from the HEA chassis. What I did was buy the RNA cast weight infills from Genesis Models. It was then just a case of re-spraying the cast infill black and then securing it into the chassis. I believe you can now buy the relevant transfers for these barrier wagons, but I'm not sure who does them. If I remember correctly just ordinary hea/haa/vba etc were also used as barriers. The brake vans I'm not sure about, something tells me they were tops code Car. But don't quote me.
Sorry Craig if I'm jumping in. I hope my input is of some help.

....what are you disagreeing with ayrmrg? The fact that 3 users of this site have all had the same problem with the original wheels on these locos or that the Ultrascale P4 conversion cured the problem?
Dave
Sorry! Didn't realise I had touched the icon. I must have done it whilst scrolling.

Thanks for all the comments, glad you like the layout class 66 hopefully will get some more pictures in the next couple of weeks. Paul if you can make Showcase at Burton in July you can see it there, that will probably be the furthest south I will be heading any time soon. You can never have too many 37's although I do have far more than I need on the layout already!
That's the first chance today of adding more detail to the layout, I have added more gravel to enhance the stream in the valley as it was a bit patchy in places and not banked enough in others. The board joint has also had ballast added to hopefully improve the levels around the front sidings.
I have also added the bolted rails onto the sleepers at the far end of the viaduct to replicate the expansion gap in the track at this point.
Thanks to Kev's photo I am off to plant a pallet, and add the yellow and white flowers in the garden! I need to also add a bush at the line side.
My detailing jobs list is also written out so hopefully most items will be ready for Glasgow! Phil you can check on progress on Sunday all being well!
Thanks
Mark

Hello
This looks suspiciously to me like the Home of " The Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group" site at Dunaskin, Ayrshire.

Hi
Have you thought about double sided tape to secure the containers? It allows you to chop and change the containers about, if ever you need to. I've used it for a few years now on these wagons and it's never caused any bother.
