  1. I was mainly referring to buy it now prices. Auctions in theory set the fair market price for the day. It annoys me when I list something for say 50 buy it now and people try it on with “its only worth 20 quid mate so sell it to me now!”
  2. I think it depends on the asking price in the first place, and the type of sale. In a face to face "Cash" sales environment I think offering 10-20% less than the asking price is fair (especially as this has probably been factored in when the seller priced it) however if its already cheap, and priced fairly (a few quid) then why bother! On eBay I think its fair to offer the going rate. I try to price my models/items fairly (and often are at the lower end of eBay prices as I want a quick sale) so it really annoys me when people send me a message along the lines of "Give you £20.00 for it, its not worth much more than that" on a model priced at £50.00 and regularly sells for £60+ - These are chancers trying to make a quick buck and they must get some success as otherwise they wouldn't waste their time!
  3. Sorry to see this - Its been handy to be able to pop in from Bradford on the odd occasion I have needed something straight away! Hope you find a cure to the pain without the need for an operation, Kind Regards, Pete
  4. In addition to the above I have just noticed that when I run the train forward and bring it to a stop, I am then unable to do anything else until either A) I remove the train from the track or B) press the stop button on the controller (and therefore isolate the power) With the above in mind I think it’s the chip
  5. Yes - None of the function buttons do anything. When I apply some power (i.e speed) and the loco starts to move there is a very faint buzzing noise coming from what I guess is the speaker, but none of the functions do anything (i.e bell, whistle etc etc) I have opened it up and the decoder seems to be fitted correctly. Hopefully I am not missing something really stupid!
  6. Hi All, First post (and its asking for help!) - I am new to model railways so please be gentle: I have just bought a brand new Bachmann 'The Permanent Way' set which is DCC sound on board. It comes with the Bachmann EZ-Command. (I know this is a basic controller but my 3 year old will also be "using" the layout so I need something simple to begin with) Here is the problem: The Sound wont work!: I was expecting it to work out of the box as it says its fitted with the sound decoder. The train runs very well around the track but none of the functions work (it doesn't have lights, so in this sense its just the sound) - I think I can hear the speaker making a noise when I power the track but the function buttons don't do anything. Is there anything I can do before returning it to the shop (noting its an hours drive away!) to test/fix it (and also noting the Ez-Command limited capability) Cheers, Pete
