    I'm some way along building a layout , based loosely on a closed prototype, which has a level crossing and crossing keepers hut. The hut (Peco) has a couple of levers and a wheel to open the gates. I'm at the stage where it would be good to know how the hut was linked to the gates so that I can model this correctly. Was the linkage covered by timber boards, for example? Any advice would be most welcome.
