  1. Progress continues as carriage two nears completion. Ready to glue the second side on and add glazing. Will then tidy paintwork around the doors.
  2. One down. Two to go. (Yes, the bodysides are a bit messy but will be fixed in due course.
  3. A while since we last had an update on the 320 project. As you can see from these photographs the DTSO cars are having their livery applied to the bodysides and cabs. The MSO car is currently being repainted but these are the first two completed of six.
  4. Need them for Calderglen. Just started the electrification myself. Looking forward to the return of the SPT Electrics!
  5. Just a short update on how the layout is progressing: The Class 320 project is now well underway and the cabs have now received the SPT livery. The bodysides are given the cream coating and now to receive crimson. Overhead Lines went in over the weekend and a new depot had been added. A decision has been made to loosely base the station off of Cambuslang about seven miles southeast of Glasgow Central on the Argyle Line between Dalmuir/Milngavie and Motherwell/Lanark/Larkhall. Station work will be the first thing started once the Class 320 and 318 are finished and accompanied by the other Class 320. Stay tuned! More to follow.
  6. New station! Based loosely off Blantyre. Need to get a back scene and warehouses behind the platform.
  7. Update: I’ve ordered three Replica Railways die cast chassis for the Class 320s and Class 318. The Class 318 is currently being reliveried from the factory Strathclyde PTE Orange & Black to an acceptable variant of the SPT Crimson & Cream livery. It’s more or less impossible to buy accurate transfers for the Class 318 in that livery so I had a go at making my own. It’s not the nearest job in the world but I’ll show you all once it’s complete. Once all three EMUs are powered I’ll then move onto working on the station furnishings and building platforms along with other rolling stock works.
  8. Been working on this DTSO for a Class 320 for the last day now. I’ll get onto building the MSO and the DTSO over the next day and a bit. I’m leaving the cabs off so they can be sprayed yellow and then all three units will be relived into ScotRail’s spotrail Saltire livery.
  9. I’d like to welcome 318252 to the layout. Though fully built, it’s still needs a lot of work done it it, including reliverying into the SPT Carmine and Cream livery and being motorised.
  10. 320303 is in with the big boys on Bridgeton Cross to be joined by 320320 and 318252.
  11. Been playing around with the trackwork quite a bit since last time, the island platform created an inaccurate gap between the running lines, so the current setup works just fine, power is now added so trains can run, though having a few problems with the 320’s motor, dropping into Wildcat Models to see if they can get it replaced or serviced.
  12. Where the Class 320s are sitting will be the main station, the backscene will cover the sidings area and the station will be situated in a cutting, similar to Bellgrove. Scenery will be applied in due course.
  13. New layout build, based on Bellgrove and High Street areas of Glasgow between 2002 and 2014.
  14. New layout build, based on Bellgrove and High Street areas of Glasgow between 2002 and 2014.
  15. In the process of making an SPT Carmine & Cream Class 320, so using an RR chassis, I bought the wrong one last time!!!
  16. What motorised chassis would you recommend for the 320? I bought a Replica Railways chassis and it didn’t fit the 320, is there a specific type? The frame is too short.
  17. Hi, would you repaint a Class 320 in SPT Orange to SPT Crimson & Cream if I send photos?
  18. Need a few Crimson 320s for Hyndford (formal name of Hyndford Bridge.) I have my Orange one.
  19. Well, the 320 has certainly made an appearance now.
  20. The start of a big project - Newlands Central, now gone was the Callander idea and replaced by Newlands Central, and as Ellss work on his Bratchell EMU fleet, I’m after an SPT Crimson Class 320 to go with my two Orange 320s. A small note to those who operate Hyndford, You’ve got me hooked buying 320...
  21. I need a SPT Carmine 320 for Callander, I’ve been thinking of electric traction.
  22. Current set for the moment. Need to make a 318 as Callander does give the opportunity to run electric traction.
