Just a short update on how the layout is progressing: The Class 320 project is now well underway and the cabs have now received the SPT livery. The bodysides are given the cream coating and now to receive crimson. Overhead Lines went in over the weekend and a new depot had been added. A decision has been made to loosely base the station off of Cambuslang about seven miles southeast of Glasgow Central on the Argyle Line between Dalmuir/Milngavie and Motherwell/Lanark/Larkhall. Station work will be the first thing started once the Class 320 and 318 are finished and accompanied by the other Class 320. Stay tuned! More to follow.

Update: I’ve ordered three Replica Railways die cast chassis for the Class 320s and Class 318. The Class 318 is currently being reliveried from the factory Strathclyde PTE Orange & Black to an acceptable variant of the SPT Crimson & Cream livery. It’s more or less impossible to buy accurate transfers for the Class 318 in that livery so I had a go at making my own. It’s not the nearest job in the world but I’ll show you all once it’s complete. Once all three EMUs are powered I’ll then move onto working on the station furnishings and building platforms along with other rolling stock works.

Been playing around with the trackwork quite a bit since last time, the island platform created an inaccurate gap between the running lines, so the current setup works just fine, power is now added so trains can run, though having a few problems with the 320’s motor, dropping into Wildcat Models to see if they can get it replaced or serviced.

What motorised chassis would you recommend for the 320? I bought a Replica Railways chassis and it didn’t fit the 320, is there a specific type? The frame is too short. -

The start of a big project - Newlands Central, now gone was the Callander idea and replaced by Newlands Central, and as Ellss work on his Bratchell EMU fleet, I’m after an SPT Crimson Class 320 to go with my two Orange 320s. A small note to those who operate Hyndford, You’ve got me hooked buying 320...

Current set for the moment. Need to make a 318 as Callander does give the opportunity to run electric traction.
